What is CPA Marketing?

In simple terms, CPA is an acronym for "cost per action". Throughout each chapter, I will be giving you a complete step by step blueprint on CPA marketing and how you will be making money using all the techniques and secrets I share with you.  By utilizing all the information and tools within your membership here, you will make money online by becoming a "publisher" for CPA networks in which the advertisers will pay you for a "cost per action".

A cost per action can vary from anything to getting a sale for the advertiser or simply collecting an email address as a lead.  All actions such as a sale or lead that you collect for the advertiser will be paid for you by the CPA network.  If all of this CPA jargon is confusing you, here are three simple examples of how you will be making money as a "publisher" for CPA networks along with a simple illustration to help you understand the complete flow better.

Example 1:  A well known company like NetFlix is an advertiser for a CPA Network like (Maxbounty) and offers "publishers" (you) $25 for each person that you refer to sign up for a free trial to their service.  This is better than getting a percentage of the sale because it costs the user nothing to sign up to NetFlix service, and the CPA Network will pay you $25 for the referral.  This is an example of a pay per lead action.

Example 2:  A popular company like Entertainment Book sells their coupon book each year for $12.50 to the consumer. If you refer someone that purchases the book, you will get a percentage of the sale. On one network they offer a $7.00 payout, so you get just over 50% commission.  This is an example of a pay per sale action.

Example 3:  A company like Consumer Incentive Promotions runs various offers where they are interested in building their email list so if you refer someone to their service that enters their email address, you get paid. On one network you can make up to $1.70 for someone that enters just their email address.  This is an example of a pay per lead action.

There are dozens and dozens of CPA networks and it seems that new ones start up each week.  It might be hard to find out where to sign up as a publisher since there are so many CPA networks out there, however I've done all the hard work for you.  In the following chapters you will find out the best networks I rank in order from best to worst so you know exactly which ones to sign up for.  Signing up to CPA networks is completely free and the more you sign up for the better, because each CPA network may have different offers than the other.  Other times, CPA networks might have the same offer but one network may payout more than the other.

Why is CPA Hot?

CPA marketing and networks are hot and lots of people are making money promoting different offers simply because your don't have to sell anything to the user.  That's the whole concept behind this site as I  am going to explain to you how to make money from CPA networks getting leads from users for filling out simple forms of information.  It's hard enough trying to sell something to a person in these tough economic times, so it's the perfect opportunity to get started in CPA marketing and networks to take advantage of this situation!

The main focus of this chapter is to simply explain that "CPA" marketing is just a term in the affiliate marketing industry that is a way for you to make money as a publisher by advertising products and services for companies.  You will learn step by step in future chapters on how to make money, but you need to understand what CPA is all about before you just dive right in if this is all new to you.  To summarize this chapter you should now know that CPA stands for "cost per action" and companies will pay you for sending them leads or sales.

How to Get Started in CPA as A Publisher?

The first thing you need to do is sign up with CPA networks and start looking through the offers you want to start promoting.  You will find offers from companies in all kinds of niches from everything to insurance companies looking for leads to As Seen on TV products like "Flex Seal or Snuggie" that is looking for sales and will pay you for getting them leads or sales.  To be successful in making money online through CPA marketing, its essential to find "niches" or categories and test them out.

I've already done the work for you on many niches that are profitable, but you will find out that some niches or categories will be profitable for you and others won't.  A lot of it will depend on a lot of factors such as how much competition is against you, where you advertise, etc.  In future chapters I will show you what the best categories and niches have worked out the best for me and you can literally copy and profit from these.  You will find out how to promote and advertise these offers in a variety of ways. Use these techniques in many other niches and profit even more.

To sign up as a publisher to these CPA networks, the process is very simple.  You will go to their website and click on the sign up button as a publisher and you will fill out the form that will ask you basic information that identifies you.  With the majority of the CPA networks they will ask you for your website name and a description of your site.

If you didn't sign up for the premium package or are new to CPA marketing or making money online in general, you probably don't have a website yet.  Most CPA networks will require you to have a website so you can promote the offers on your website.

Don't worry if you don't have a website because some of the techniques I show you how to make money with do not require a website at all.  I will tell you though if you do not have a website, you may not get accepted into all CPA networks, because some do require a website.  If you signed up as a platinum member, you will be able to use the website we setup for you when applying for the CPA network.

Typically any existing website you already have should be approved since CPA networks generally have offers in all types of categories that would be similar to your existing website.  If you do not have a website, I will show you in a future chapter how you can make money promoting CPA offers.  If you are serious about making money through CPA marketing, I highly recommend upgrading to our platinum package where you will get your own customized website.

In the next chapter, I will show you exactly step by step on how to sign up with an affiliate network and the best way to get approved.  To summarize this chapter, you just need to understand that you are going to be a publisher each time you sign up for a CPA network.

How to Sign Up to A CPA Network

In this chapter I will walk you through step by step on signing up to a CPA network.  Each network will be very similar in the sign up process, so you should have a good idea on how it works overall by seeing the example below.

You will simply need to click on the links in the next chapters to go directly to the top CPA networks that I recommend and for this example I am using the network "Maxbounty".  This network has one of the more complicated registration processes, so it will be good to see exactly how this one works.  Some CPA networks simply have a one page form, but this one is a little more in depth.

Step 1:  Once you get to the home page, simply click on the Join Maxbounty Now button.

Step 2:  Enter in Your Info

Step 3:  Select Your Security Questions

Step 4:  Enter in Your Contact Info

Note: In the "How did you hear about MaxBounty" question.  Please add "referred by Elite Web Holding" as this will get you approved.

Step 5:  Enter in your address info.

Step 6:  Enter in your experience with affiliate marketing.  If you are a complete beginner that is totally fine as I have prefilled the boxes with some info that you can add, but feel free to modify as needed.  For the website URL:  If you do not have one yet, just enter "tba".

Make sure to use "No" for incentive traffic.  We will go over incentive traffic in a later module, but for no you won't need it as this will just take longer to get approved and you will need to provide more details to the company for incentive traffic.

Step 7:  Read the terms and conditions and agree to them to finish your application.

That's it! You should receive a phone call from an account manager in 1-3 business days depending on the volume of registrations to confirm your information and ask you for any additional information they need.  In the meantime if you don't have a website yet, start thinking about building this so you have a URL to share as they will eventually want to see something.  You can build a simple Wordpress site in any niche that interests you to start.

At this point you will just need to wait until they call and approve your account.  Once your account is approved, you are all setup now to start making money instantly!

In the next chapter I will show you the best networks to apply for at first.

How to Get Approved into CPA Networks

Now that I have shown you an example in the last chapter of what it takes to sign up with a CPA network, it's your turn to do that with any of the networks I have listed below.  I recommend only signing up with 1 network right now so you don't get too overwhelmed with all the different offers, account managers, etc.  The following CPA networks are the ones that I highly recommend.  You will soon find out that there are literally hundreds of CPA networks and some are great, some are good, and some are very bad.  I've tested dozens of them and you will want to start with any of the ones below.

The CPA networks that I have listed above are a great start if you are new to CPA marketing as they are the easiest to sign up with and get approved in order.  You may want to visit each site to see which one you like the best, but any one of these networks will be a great start.

Once you have found a CPA network that you like, go ahead and register as a publisher.  If you need step by step instructions, please see the previous chapter that will show you information that you may need to fill out the registration form.

Remember, most networks will ask you for your website address, and if you do not have one, simply put in a URL like TBA and then start working on your site or blog while they process your application.

Once you have been registered, most all CPA networks will call you to verify all your information and ask additional questions.  A lot of networks are looking for publishers that have been established and know what they are doing or fairly new at making money online.  If you are new to CPA marketing, don't worry, just tell them that you are learning step by step how to make money with CPA networks from this membership here.

The top two questions that CPA networks will most likely ask you:

1. How do you promote offers?

Answer: I will be buying traffic through PPC, Social, getting natural search engine traffic, and email traffic through my newsletter.

I will be teaching you a lot of methods on getting traffic to your offers, not just the ones I listed, but if you at least give them this info, that will be good enough for you to get approved.

2. Have you promoted any offers before or which ones interest you?

Answer: I will be promoting offers that are hot and converting well as I like to experiment with any new offer that comes out on a network.

You don't have to get too specific in this answer because you probably don't really know which offers you want to promote at the moment as you want to browse through all of them on their network.

If for some reason you don't get approved for the CPA network you chose, just go ahead and try registering for another one until you get approved.  Once you are approved, you will get your login and password to the CPA network you chose so you can login and see all the offers available.  You will also be assigned an account manager who will help you every step of the way to be successful.

They are there for you in case you have any problems getting your check, help give you advice on the best converting offers, etc.  In future chapters I will show you how easy it is to get them to setup a higher payout on many offers on their network.

Once you are signed up and approved to the CPA network, you will want to go to the next chapter to see what first steps to take.

First Steps to Take When Getting Approved

Once you finally get approved to the CPA network, now the fun really begins!  You should receive an email from your account manager with your login and password that you will need to login.  Simply go to the website of the CPA network you are approved with and login there as a "publisher" or sometimes they refer a publisher as an "affiliate".  Once you are logged in, things might seem a bit overwhelming to you at first.

The very first thing that you should do is go into your profile and make sure that all your info including your address is correct.  This is important so that the checks you receive will get sent to the correct location.  All CPA networks do require a W-9 on file if you are a US resident.  Make sure that you fill that out and send it back to your affiliate manager.  Typically in your welcome email, the account manager will indicate how to get this filled out and sent back.  This is one of the first things I take care of, because the CPA network cannot release a payment until they have this on file.

In this chapter, I will walk you through how you can navigate around one of the CPA networks.  Please note that each CPA network typically has their own interface which may or may not be completely different from another one so that's why it's important to just use one at first if you are brand new to CPA marketing.  For this example, I am going to use MaxBounty as I found them to be one of the easiest ones to navigate through if you are a newbie.

Once I get logged into MaxBounty I have most of the important information already there in front of me as you can see below.

A couple things to highlight on the home page is that right when you login, you will see what your current earnings are by day and month to date. What I also like about this network is that you will see any new offers that are available by each day along with how much is offered per lead.  If you click on the offer link, you will get a detailed description of the offer and how the landing page looks.

Another thing to look at is the "Top Campaigns" section on the right as it will list all the top offers that many publishers are making good money with.  This is great to look at because all the testing is already done for you and if you choose to run one of these offers, you should get great conversions and make a lot of money with them.

Finally, on the left hand side you will see all the contact info for your affiliate manager.  The best part about CPA marketing unlike any other type of affiliate marketing is that you get a dedicated account manager personally assigned to your account.

If you have any problems, need some suggestions on what offers to promote, or just about anything else you can think of regarding their network, they will be happy to answer any questions and help you reach your revenue goals.  Typically each account manager has an incentive to help you make money because they might earn a small percentage of all the money you make so its a win / win situation for everyone!

Example Offer

If you are outside the U.S., you may see a different landing page.

Email / Zip Code Submits

One

$0.50 to $3.00

These types of offers are the easiest to convert and make money with since they only require the user to submit one field of information for you to get paid.

Link

Short Forms

3-5

$1.00 to $7.00

These offers usually require the user to enter info such as name, email, phone number, etc. which might be a little harder to convert but pay more than email / zip offers

Link

Long Forms

6-10

$2.00 to $17.00

Although there is a lot of personal info the user must enter, they pay the most and typically don't require any type of payment from the user.

Link

2-3 Page Forms

10+

$10 to $30

These offer require a lot of detailed information about the user and you should really know what you're doing before you attempt to promote these types of offers

Link

Sales Pages

Varies

These offers are basically giving you a percentage or commission on each lead that you generate into a sale.  For instance the user must make a purchase on the site for you to get credit for the lead.

Email / Zip Code Submits

Let's now take a look at how to find offers that you want to begin promoting. Just click on the "Search Campaigns" link on the left hand side, and then you will be able to browse through specific offers or by category.

For this example, I am going to choose the "Babies" category because I decided that I want to start advertising offers in this niche.  Let's just say I have a website blog setup that gives information about babies so I want to look through any offers that I could setup links or banners on my site that I think users on my site would like.  Below you will see all the offers that are available for you to promote in the "Baby" category.

You will notice that it will show the name of the offer, payout per lead, the end date, if incentives are allowed, what links are allowed, and the region the offer is good for.  I will now explain what each field means to you below.

Campaign Name = This is simply the name of the offer that should easily describe what is being offered.  So for instance "Samples Avenue - Mom & Baby Samples" would indicate that the user has a chance to get a free mom and baby samples.  You will also click on the name of the offer to get a detailed description of the offer along with your actual link, banners, etc. so that you can start promoting and making money through the offer.

CPA Rate = This is the amount of money you will make each time a lead is generated.  So for example with the "Johnson's Baby Relief Kit" offer it indicates that the offer "converts on one field".  So all the user has to do when they click on your unique link is enter their email address on the landing page of the offer and you will get paid $1.60.  Pretty simple huh?

EPC = This indicates the average amount you will receive when someone clicks on your link.  The higher the better.  It's important to note this is network wide, not your EPC, so I would really take this number with a grain of salt since are so many factors and affiliates that make up this number.

Traffic = This determines on how you can promote the actual offer.  For instance if you see "All" it means that there are no restrictions and you can promote the offer on your website, directly through search engine marketing, by emailing to your newsletter, etc.  If an offer only allows "solo email", then you are unable to put any links or banners on your website.  Typically most good offers will allow all types of links allowed, meaning you can promote it anyway you want.

Now let's look at the "free Johnson's" offer in detail as you will see the info below when you click on the name of the offer.

You will see most of the same information you saw on the previous page, but here you can see a preview of the landing page of the offer.  Just click on the "Default Landing Page" link near the bottom and it will show you the page where your users will go to once they click on your link.

So you will see that all the user has to do is enter their email address on this offer.  Once they click on the continue button after entering their email, you will get paid $1.60.  Now you're probably wondering, whether or not the user will get "free samples" as the offer claims.  As you can see there are terms and conditions below at the bottom.

For these offers and many other ones, the user actually has to participate in surveys, complete other offers, etc. to actually get the free samples.  However the best part is that you don't have to worry about that as you simply get paid when the user submits their email address and clicks the Continue button.

Now to get your unique link, you will simply click on the "Build Tracking Link" button.

Once you click on the button, just select how you are going to promote it, whether it's Display, Email, Social, etc.

So if you were going to promote this offer on your website, you would copy the link and paste it somewhere on your site that could say something like this "Get Free Samples for Your Baby and You, Click Here for Details!".  You would then make a hyperlink with this text with the link above.  You can also get the complete code for a banner in which you would simply copy the HTML code from the offer and paste on your website.

This is just an example of one particular offer, you can browse through all the categories and offers and see which ones fit your website or areas you want to try and promote.  A good tip is that you should always check out the landing page of an offer and see how well designed and laid out it is.

For instance, if you were to click on the "free diapers" offer and got to that landing page, would you enter your email address?  I usually always make sure the landing page is clean and easy to enter information.  The "free baby samples" offer I believe has an excellent landing page because it's very clean and easy for the user to enter their email address without getting lost somewhere else within the page.

The point of this chapter is to basically get familiar with your CPA network once you get logged in.  Go ahead and browse around their site, view some of the offers, and get to know how to mange through the site easily.  Once again, I've found that each CPA network has a different interface, but once you get through your first one, managing your second, third, and more CPA accounts will be much easier.  The next chapter will walk you through step by step in how to setup your first offer campaign.

Back to Table of Contents

Setting up A CPA Campaign on An Existing Website

For this example, I will show you an example of how to setup your first campaign by choosing an offer to start promoting.  Using MaxBounty as the CPA network again as shown in the previous chapter, I am going to look through their offers.  The example site that I am going to put an advertisement or offer on is ShrimpRecipe.com as seen below:

As you can see this is a content site that I own in which people can browse through and find all kinds of different shrimp recipes.  Right now I'm running Adsense ads and only making about $7 per day with this one site.  It's not too bad, however with CPA offers, I can make over $1 per lead instead of .05 a click.

I am going to search through the one field email offers because they are some of the easiest ones to make money with since they only require the user to enter their email address to get paid.

Once I'm logged into MaxBounty again, I will search through the offers by keyword: "recipes" since this is a recipe site.

Since I have a site that is related to food and cooking I have found the perfect offer to promote which is highlighted above called Divine Eats - Free Recipe Newsletter.  I will click on the offer to get the details, check out the landing page, and if it looks good, grab my specific link code so I can place it on my website.  Once I clicked on the landing page preview I am shown the following page which I will review to see if it might fit my site:

As you can see from the screen shot above the offer is for a Free Recipe Book which the user can sign up to get free recipes.  This seems to be a perfect fit for my website since people that are looking for recipes might be in need of other types of recipes that can get.  So I will simply get the linking code and place that on my site.  Now you can also get banners if they are available for the offer, but I like using text links since people mostly view banners as ads and might be less likely to click on it.

You can get a text link or banners to add to your site, whichever you see fit for the best layout on your site.  I find that text links seem to work the best because they don't necesarily look like a blatened advertisement on your site that people would be less likely to click on.

Setting Up A Campaign Through Article Marketing

To promote the CPA offers and start making money capturing leads, you need to get traffic to the actual offers you are promoting.  One easy and "free" way to get traffic to your offers is by article writing.  This is one of my favorite free methods of promoting CPA offers because you can get a lot of traffic to your offers that you are promoting fast and it doesn't cost you a penny so all your earnings are 100% profit!  There are hundreds of article sites out there where you can write an article on a particular topic or niche and having your affiliate link within that article.

For example, say that you want to promote a CPA offer that is about "loan modifications" and how to save your house from foreclosure.  At this time this particular topic and niche is HOT!  You can write a simple article on what a loan modification is and how it can save your house from foreclosure.  Even if you have no idea on what a loan modification is, the best part about promoting CPA offers is that, the actual landing page that you are going to send your visitors to will have most of the information already on that page where you can copy and rewrite in your own words.

I'm actually already promoting a loan modification offer using article marketing to drive free traffic to this CPA offer.  Since this is a hot offer and CPA offers will pay you sometimes up to $15 for a lead, many people are paying a lot of money for advertising their offer.  That is why I chose to promote this particular niche "loan modifications" via article marketing so that I get free traffic.  My goal is to have the keywords that people are searching for on loan modifications and trying to save their house show up in the top of Google, Yahoo, etc.  You will get some traffic from people that are searching for articles on the actual article website, but you really make your money when you can get your article on the first or second page of Google.

I will walk you through how I chose this niche "loan modifications", how to select an offer, write your article, and getting your article in the top 10 of Google.  The first thing that I had to do was find a niche I wanted to promote.  One thing that I do when looking for CPA offers to promote is to understand what topics or news in the industry today are gaining a lot of attention.  Anything that is consistently in the news or you see on television is something that a lot of people are interested in which can result in getting a lot of traffic and conversions to that particular topic.

So in my example, since home foreclosures are on the rise in the U.S. and has consistently been on the news over the last six months or so.  This means that a lot of people are most likely falling behind on their mortgage payments and can't afford to keep up with their current payment plan.  So, the loan modification CPA offer which is actually a service where a person that is facing foreclosure has an opportunity to make a modification to their loan which could enable them to keep their house and avoid foreclosure.

Without getting too much into detail about what a loan modification is, basically all the user needs to do in order for me to get my lead and paid for the conversion is fill out a simple form on the first page of the CPA offer which only has six fields.  In this example, for the loan modification offer I'm promoting you will see the landing page the user will go to once they click on my affiliate link within my article.  Once the user completes the six easy fields, and clicks "Go To Step 2", I get paid.

Regardless is the user doesn't qualify for a loan modification or doesn't even complete page 2, I will get credit for the lead just by having them fill out their info in the six fields on the first page in clicking "Go To Step 2".  This particular CPA offer pays $13.50 per lead which is a great amount since the offer's page is easy and fast to complete for the user.

The first thing you want to do after you have found your niche is to make sure that there are CPA offers in this category that you can promote and make money with.  In my example there are dozens of loan modification offers in most all of the CPA networks so finding one wasn't that hard for me.  If you choose a hot niche that you read about or see on television frequently, then you shouldn't have any problem finding the niche.  Another way to simply find an offer to promote is to go ahead and search through different categories on the CPA networks and see which offers there are a lot of.  Most likely if there are a lot of offers available in a particular category, then this niche is hot and a lot of people are making money with them.

So for this particular niche, I will show you how I chose the current offer I am promoting.  In this case I am using an offer from W4 CPA network, but you can use these steps in any network.  The first thing I did was search by keyword for "loan modification" within all their offers so I can see how many were available, check out their landing pages where the user submits their information, and most importantly how much they pay per lead.

Once I submit my search, I will see all the available offers in the "loan modification" niche.  You will see that there are two particular offers on this network in which one pays $12 per lead and the other pays $13.50 per lead.

I will view each offer by clicking on the link for each one and finding the landing page to see how it looks.  The landing page is very important because when you are sending your visitors to this page, you want it to be laid out very easy and user friendly for the visitor to complete the information on the page so you can get the lead.  The more user friendly and less distractions on the page, the better likely you will earn your money for the user completing the information on that page.

The landing page below is the offer for "Start A Loan Modification" that pays $12 per lead.  It looks like a very clean and user friendly landing page that has a action item headline "Don't Lose Your Home to Foreclosure" and then information within the body of the page that explains what a loan modification is.  It also has the form where users can get started easily by simply entering their information and answering a few simple questions.  The offer has a total of 13 fields where the user needs to complete although some of them are simple "yes" or "no" questions.  Seems like a good landing page overall, but I still want to evaluate the other offer to compare it.

You will see the next offer "Loan Modification Connection" that pays $13.50 per lead. This landing page is very similar to the other offer as it has the call to action item with the headline "Behind on your Mortgage" along with what a loan modification is at the bottom.  However, this offer has success stories at the bottom and actually is a much shorter form to fill out than the previous offer.  It only contains six total fields that the user has to fill out and submit for you to get credit for the $13.50 per lead.

In this case, it's really a no brainer for me on which offer I want to promote.  The second offer as pictured below pays a higher lead amount and has more than half less fields for the user to fill out than the first one.  Obviously the less information the user has to fill out should increase your conversions in getting the lead.  I think even if this particular offer paid less than the first, I may still choose this one because the landing page is very user friendly and a lot less personal information than the first offer so more people would be likely to submit their info on this one versus the other offer.

When evaluating different landing pages, it's important to make sure they have a few important things.

1. Call to Action Item - This is usually the headline you see at the top of the page or image that will grab the visitors attention and make them read more.

2. User Friendly - Make sure that the landing page is easy to navigate and read the important items on the topic that will get the user to complete the offer by entering their information.

3. Minimum Fields - The less information the user has to enter the better your conversions will be.  Also the less personal the information is to the user, the better as well.

Put yourself in the users shoes and see for yourself, would you be likely to stay on the page, read the information, and eventually complete the offer?

Now that I have found the loan modification CPA offer that I want to promote, it's time to write my article that I am going to submit to article sites.  If you already know information on your niche it will be very easy for you to get ideas and write a short article and eventually drive people to your CPA offer that you are promoting.  For me, I have heard a lot about loan modifications but didn't know exactly everything involved with it and how it worked in detail.  So the first thing I did was google "loan modification" to get an understanding of what this term meant in detail so I can use this as my opening paragraph for my article.

I clicked on the first link in the natural listings and it took me to a page that explained exactly what it was in summary and frequently asked questions about a loan modification.  This is all you need to do when writing an article on any topic or niche.  Simply Google the term and then find the first couple sites in Google to learn about the topic and use that information to write your article.

Now one thing you do NOT want to do is simply copy the text and paste it in your article.  This will get your article rejected every time by the large article sites.  You simply need to rephrase the information in your own words, add to it, etc.  What I did, was simply take the information of what a loan modification was from the site and reword it in my own words to get my first paragraph of the article.

Next, I wanted to give information on how to help your user "save their home" since this is the topic that I am focusing on with a loan modification.  The next step was to simply go to the CPA offer page that I am going to promote and basically copy all the information from that site into my article.

You will see towards the bottom of the site it explains how to avoid foreclosure and the benefits of a loan modification.  This is perfect information for my article on how to save your home along with getting the user to click on my affiliate link in my article that will essentially drive them to this page.  I didn't even need to Google the term "loan modification" as this offer has everything I need for knowing about a loan modification.  So I simply copied everything in the red box above and pasted it into my article.  Again, you can't just leave it at that and submit your article.  You need to just reword some of the terms, rephrase a sentence, add to the information from your own perspective, etc.  Just make it your own so it's not deliberate copied information.

You can see how I wrote my article directly from the link below along with a direct screen shot of it:

http://ezinearticles.com/?Save-My-House-and-Avoid-Foreclosure-With-Loan-Modification&id=2132445

You will notice that it looks very similar to the information on the landing page which is exactly what I copied and then just rewrote the text in my own words so it wasn't exact.  Then at the bottom of the article is where I can place my affiliate link to the CPA offer.  Every article site allows you to place a link in your author resource box at the bottom of the article.  Some sites even allow you to add links within the body of the article, but not Ezine Articles.

Now with many article sites such as Ezine Articles (the site I used in this example) you can't place a direct affiliate link from your article and I will explain later how you can get around that.  Once you have your article written and ready to be submitted, it's time to submit it to the top article sites.  There are hundreds of article sites out on the Internet with new ones popping up everyday, but I will recommend the best ones below as they will get you the most traffic along with the search engines loving these sites so that your article eventually appears in the top pages of Google on certain keywords users are searching for.

Article Marketing Tips

A few tips on writing your article so that it gets a lot of traffic and appears in the top pages of Google, Yahoo, etc.

1. The title of your article is the most important part in targeted the keywords you want to rank for in the top of the search engines.  In my case, I wanted to target "save my house", "avoid foreclosure", and "loan modification" and any combinations of those search terms.  So, you need to put these keywords in the title of your article as you can see I did in the example above: "Save My House and Avoid Foreclosure with A Loan Modification".  That was the title of my article.

2. The next thing you want to do is in the first paragraph use these keywords again like "how to save your house", "loan modification" etc.  See the example above on how I used them.

3. Use your keywords again one more time in the body or ending paragraph of your article.

4. Keep your article short and sweet.  Make sure your article contains anywhere from 250 (minimum) and up to 700 (maximum) words per article.  You want to make sure you are getting your point across and teasing the user to learn more and eventually click on your affiliate link in the author resource box.

These are the three main tips that you should follow when writing your article so that it has a great chance of appearing in the top of the search engines for the keywords you are targeting.  In my case "save my house" was the main search term that I wanted to show up in Google for when users where searching for this keyword in Google.

Here are the top article sites I recommend:

http://EzineArticles.com

http://articlesbase.com/

http://goarticles.com/

http://searchwarp.com/

You will simply need to go to each site above and create a free account if you don't have one already to start submitting your articles.  As I mentioned there are hundreds of other article sites, but you really only need to submit your articles to the sites listed above or only just one for that matter to get your traffic from the search engines such as Google, Yahoo, etc.  Once you have your article submitted, go ahead and login to each of the article sites listed above or any others that you choose to use and submit your article.  A few of the article sites such as Ezine Articles and ArticlesBase (first few articles) will need to be approved before they are live to make sure they comply with their guidelines.

In my loan modification campaign I simply submitted the article to just one site, Ezine Articles and it was approved in a couple days.  Once it's approved, now you just need to wait for the search engines to pick up your article.  It will immediately get traffic from the people that are searching on the actual article sites like Ezine Articles.  After a day or two, you will want to go ahead and search on Google for the keywords you were targeting.  In my case it was "save my house" and below is a screenshot for the first page of the results in Google for "save my house"

I've also ranked well for keyword "save my house from foreclosure" as I came in at #13 on Google as seen below:

It goes even further on Yahoo as I've ranked #5 for keyword "save my house" and #3 for "save my house from foreclosure as seen below:

As well as "save my house from foreclosure"

You will notice that in all of the screen shots above you will see how many different websites have the keywords "save my house" and  "save my house from foreclosure" as it's in the millions.  The keyword "save my house" alone has 83+ million websites that have this keyword within their website.  My article beat out all of these millions of websites getting on the first page in Google and Yahoo!  You may be wondering how I achieved such a great position in the search engines and all it takes is the four important tips that I mentioned earlier.

Results are not always instant as I actually had to wait 3 or 4 days for the article to show up in the top of Google and Yahoo after it was approved live by EzineArticles.  Sometimes you might get lucky and it will appear within hours of your article being approved.  There are many factors that determine how soon your article will show up in the search engines and "if" it even makes it there.  The search engines are sometimes very hard to figure out, but if you follow the important steps as outlined in this chapter above, you will have some success at getting traffic to your articles, user clicks to your CPA offer that you are promoting in the article, and ultimately leads that will earn you money.

Another Article Marketing Campaign Example

In this section my goal is to continue to get more free traffic to my CPA offer, in this case the loan modification offer, using some more article marketing techniques.  In the last chapter, you saw how I simply wrote one article using Ezine Articles which eventually appeared in the first pages of Google and Yahoo after a few days of it being approved.  I am now going to write a second article targeting a different keyword phrase on another article site.  I could submit another article to Ezine Articles, but I'm going to actually write and submit a new article to my next favorite article site which is ArticlesBase.com.

As I mentioned in a previous chapter, you need to do your keyword research so that you know exactly which keywords you are going to use in the title of your article and couple other times within the body of your article.  I showed you how to do your keyword research using the Google keyword tool which is a great free tool to use, but I also actually use a much better tool that saves me a lot of time when researching keywords.  It's called Adwords Analyzer and it does mostly the same thing that the free Google keyword tool does, however it also shows me the important number that I need which is how many results or number of websites are competing for that exact keyword phrase.

In the example above you will see that I put in a couple of keywords that are related to the loan modification offer (mortgages foreclosure).  By putting in both of these keywords, the tool will bring back results with any combination of these keywords in a phrase.  As you can see from above, the keyword "mortgages for people in foreclosure" has 3,570 searches per month and it only has 2,360 websites that have this exact phrase.  Going back to my general rule of thumb where I won't try and get a first page listing in the search engines unless the results show me under 50,000.  In this case the results show well under that and it also gets a lot of searches per month, so I'm going to use this as targeting my keyword phrase when writing my next article.

You can also do your keyword research using the Google keyword tool, but you will just have to find the results of each keyword manually using the procedures as I mentioned earlier.  Just to show you that the number is the same in Google as in the keyword tool I use above you can see from the screen shot below:

Once I wrote my article and submitted it to ArticlesBase.com, I also submitted the link to my article on another website so that I can get an instant back link to my article. With ArticlesBase.com the first 10-20 articles you write will need to wait for approval just like Ezine Articles, however after you submit many articles to this site, you will gain credibility as an author and your articles will be approved instantly after you submit them without having to be manually approved.  The next day after I submitted my article I checked Google using my keyword phrase that I was targeting and trying to get in the top of the search engines with.  Amazingly in just 15 hours my article was ranked #4 in Google for my keyword!!!

All I did to achieve another top ranking for my article was use my keyword phrase in the title of my article and a couple other times within the body of my article, and got one back link to the article from another website.  Another good website where I like to get back links to my articles is folkd.com.  Remember as I mentioned earlier, it's great to get as many back links to your article as you can because Google and other search engines will see that other websites are linking to your article which means that it must be important which in return ranks it high on Google.

When getting a back link from another site such as folkd.com, it's very easy to do.  Just register for a new account (for your first time only), and submit your link, give it a title (something not exact as your article title) and copy the first or second sentence from your actual article in the summary.  Then add a couple of tags which would be some keyword phrases you are targeting like "loan modifications", "save your home", etc.  Then just submit it, and you will have an instant back link to your article.

Now getting a back link to your article generally isn't necessary to achieve instant success in your article ranking high in the search engines, however this is a technique that will help maintain your articles high ranking in the long run.  Sometimes articles will appear in the top of the search engine for days or weeks and then all of a sudden disappear as newer content or articles come out.  While getting back links pointing to your article it will help you keep your high position.

Keyword Research

It's an important thing to do before you begin writing your articles, building landing pages, mini sites, etc. so you know which keywords you are going to target and incorporate in your title and throughout your article / site.  Without trying to rank high in the search engines for keywords, you can forget about getting much traffic to your pages.  It's almost impossible without spending a lot of time and money on trying to rank your articles / sites for general keywords like "mortgages" or "loans" because there are too many other sites that are ranking for this term.

Instead, you need to set a goal at aiming for longer keyword phrases within that niche like "how to get a mortgage" or "cheapest loans chicago".  These terms aren't going to get searched for as much as general keywords, however if you setup pages to target several keyword phrases, they will all add up.  You will also get more targeted traffic that will result in better lead conversions when you target longer keyword phrases.  For example, if your page ranked high for the keyword "loans" and the user was searching for a loan in Portland but you only had information on loans in Chicago, the user isn't going to stay on your page for long.  So by targeting the keyword phrase "cheapest loans chicago", you will have exactly what the user is looking for.

Using the Keyword Tool

You might be wondering how to determine what keywords to target or pick from for your topic or offer to promote.  Another important thing to do is your keyword research before you begin writing your article so you know which keywords you are going to target and incorporate in your title and throughout your article.  In my case I wanted to see how many people where looking to try and save their home.  A great tool to do your keyword research is a free tool offered by Google located here: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

As pictured above, I entered in the keyword I wanted to target, see how many people were searching for this keyword, get any synonym terms, and if there was a lot of websites competing for the same term.  Generally it would be great if you can get target a keyword that has anything over 300 searches per month.

The results above tell me that there are two keywords that are receiving over 300 searches per month.  Save my home is actually searched for 6,600 times which would give my article great traffic if I can get it ranked in the top of the search engines.  Now that I have targeted a keyword phrase I want to use, I will now determine if I think I'll be able to rank high enough for it on the search engines.  If there are two many websites that are already targeting this keyword, it will be hard to rank in the top for it and I'll want to choose something else.

Once I click on my article, I can instantly see how many people have viewed it.  In less than a day, I've already had 6 views, which isn't much, but over time this article is going to add up to a lot more views which is all FREE traffic.  The great thing about Articles Base is that I am allowed to use up to three links to my CPA offer within the article.  Twice in the body of the article and once in the resource box at the end of the article as shown below.  Writing this second article was simple because I took a lot of the information from the first article I wrote and then just re-worded again.

You might be thinking why can't you just copy the exact article you wrote the first time and use it again on another article site since it's your own article.  Yes you can definitely do that, however Google is very smart and if it comes across identical articles, it will treat your second article as duplicate content and not rank it high in the search.  For this reason, I simply modified a couple paragraphs, but you will notice I copied the same asterisk points as in my first article, just re-wrote them in different words.  I succeeded in getting past "duplicate content" in Google's eyes because of re-wording the article.

EXAMPLE 2

Staying in this same niche, I knew that there were a lot of people that were in foreclosure or close to it, so there were probably a lot of keyword phrases that people were searching for.  At first I typed in general keywords like "mortgage foreclosure" to get some ideas of phrases I could target.

I got lots of ideas as you can see below.  To find out if I can rank high for these keywords I would search for the term in Google with (quotes) around it to see ho many competing websites target this exact phrase like I did for the previous example.  Instead of doing each keyword one by one in Google, I actually use a tool that does it all for me so I can easily see which keywords I can rank high for at a glance.

The tool is called Google Keyword Planner that I highly recommend which saves me a TON of time when I do my keyword research and I'm able to find lots of keyword phrases where I can dominate the rankings in the search engines.

When I entered the keyword "mortgages foreclosure" I see that the keyword phrase "mortgages for people in foreclosure" gets 3,750 searches per day with only 2,760 competing websites so this should be easy to rank high for.

I wrote an article on ArticlesBase.com using the article writing techniques I mentioned earlier and my article ranked #2 for the keywords just a couple days later!

Also #3 in Yahoo!

You can see that in almost any niche that you are looking to make money in, just start with general keyword phrases like I did and you will get a lot of other examples for keywords that you can rank high for.  You can do this free with the Google keyword tool and then manually check Google to see how many websites are competing for this term, or you can use Adword Analyzer if you want it automated for you.

Keyword Competition

To find out how many websites are competing and targeting for the keyword phrase in my first keyword research example "save my home", I will simply go to Google.com and enter the phrase "save my home" in quotes (which is important) and it will give me the results as pictured below:

You will see that there are 303,000 websites that are targeting the exact phrase "save my home".  It's important to note that I put the phrase in quotes when searching in Google because that gives me the exact phrase results "save my home" instead of for instance "save your home and my credit score".  As a general rule of thumb, I don't like to compete for a keyword (in which I mean use as my main target keyword for my article) if the results in Google show anything over 60,000 websites.  So in this case 303,000 websites are using this exact phrase "save my home" so I'm going to try a different keyword to target instead.

The Google keyword tool also lists synonyms you might want to consider using as your keywords.  In this case, I see that "save my house" gets 3,600 searches per month which would also give my article a good amount of traffic if I can rank well in the search engines.

I will know test this out on Google and see how many websites are competing for the new keyword "save my house".

As you can see above, there are 62,400 websites competing for the exact keyword phrase "save my house".  This means there are a lot less websites using this keyword phrase compared to "save my home" so I would have a much better chance at getting a high ranking in the search engine for this keyword phrase.  Since this is just a bit over my rule of thumb as to not try a keyword phrase that has over 60,000 websites using this exact phrase, I tried it out anyway.  This is how you will want to research your keywords and determine which ones to target and use for your article.

Once your article is live, there are a few tricks that you will want to do in order to increase your chances of getting your article listed in the top of the search engines and keep it there for a long period of time.  Sometimes articles will appear in the top of the search engines quickly after being approved, but then it will disappear weeks or months later never to be found again.  This can happen for a number of different reasons and without getting too much into how search engines determine how well websites are ranked by keyword, you will want to follow the next steps below.

Back to Table of Contents

Explanation of Backlinks

Backlinks are a big factor in determining how well a website or article is ranked in the search engines.  In simple terms, back links are just the number of websites on the Internet that have a link on their website of another particular website.  For instance, if there is a "how to" website out there on the Internet that is looking for content or information to add to their site and they find my article about "how to save your home", they might find it worthwhile to add a link to my article on their website as it compliments their "how to" site.  Google and Yahoo love sites with back links because this tells them that it's an important website or article that other websites are putting a link to on their website.

So how do you get back links?  There are many sites where you can get your own back links to your article which will increase your ranking in the search engines.  My favorite is Mixx.com, but there are hundreds of other sites where you can get back links to your article.  The best ones are below where basically you can submit a story, news, etc. to the site (like Mixx.com) and then have a link to your article as the story.  This will give you a back link to your article.

In my example, I went to Mixx.com (register for a free account), and login.  Once you get logged in, I went ahead and submitted a link to Mixx (in this case it's my article from Ezine Articles).

This is where you will enter some basic information about your article.  First you simply get the exact URL of the article you submitted and enter that in the page URL of Mixx.

On the next screen, you want to enter a title of the story you are submitting.  In this case I simply abbreviate everything from my article.

What you will want to do is just summarize everything about your article as you can see how I did above.  The goal in this step is not to get any traffic from submitting your story on Mixx (although you will get some), is to get a back link from Mixx to your article (in my case to my Ezine Article on loan modification). Once you enter the summary and choose a category for your topic, simply click on submit and you will get an instant back link to your article.

This was just one place you can get back links to your articles and there are several similar websites that you can submit your summary story of your article to gain back links.  Obviously the more back links you get the better, but I have found that simply getting 1 or 2 back links is sufficient in achieving good results.  There's also times where you don't have to get any back links to your article and it will rank just fine for your keywords.

Now for the exciting part on checking the stats of my article in this example.  The article has been live for about a week now and as I mentioned it just started to show up in the search engines a couple of days ago so it's still fairly new.  To view your article stats you can simply login to your account on the article website or in my case with Ezine Articles, you just need to bring up the actual article.  In my case, I have had 96 people view my article.  That's GREAT news for this article only showing up in the search engines for a couple days now.  Although it's great to get a lot of article views, the main goal is to get people to click on my affiliate link that will take the user to the CPA offer (loan modification page).

To determine how many people clicked on my affiliate link within my article I can either look at my URL clicks within my Ezine Articles account or simply login to the CPA network that I'm running this offer from.  In this case I will find out my stats in Hydra Network as it will show me how many clicks I have had along with any leads I have credit for.

As you can see above this particular offer has had 26 clicks to it along with 1 action or lead which resulted in $13.50 credited to me! That's GREAT news for this article only being live for a week now and showing up in the search engines just a couple days ago.  Although I didn't get all the 96 people to click on the affiliate link at the bottom of my article, 27% of them did.

Not everyone is going to click on your link for many different reasons, but anything over 20% of your views that result in clicks would be great.  To turn the maximum amount of user views into clicks, you want to make your article interesting and make sure you use action points like showing a summary of the benefits, rewards, etc.  In my case it was very easy for me to get good information since I copied the CPA offer's landing page and rewrote the information in my own words.

Remember with article writing, the money you make from CPA offers is PURE profit as in my case with the $13.50 I've already earned from the article just being live on the Internet.  Although article writing can take some time, in the long run it will be well worth it as you won't have to pay Google, Yahoo, or any other search engines a penny as compared to pay per click advertising which is another advertising method I will discuss in a later chapter.

Article writing and marketing by following the steps I've outlined above is a great way for newbies looking to make money promoting CPA offers as compared to paid advertising.  It requires no money you are risking up front, and I don't recommend paid advertising until you actually learn from article marketing.  This way the money you start earning from article marketing you can put away to start using with paid advertising when the time comes.

With just this one article if I can continue to get the views and clicks it's been getting I should be able to achieve at least one lead per week which gives me an extra $54 per month on only about 15 minutes of work! The best part about writing an article is that you simply submit it, get a couple back links if you want, and forget about it.  Over time if and when the article maintains a high ranking in the search engines, it will continue to get views, clicks, and leads for you month after month and possibly year after year.  I have a couple articles that are consistently earning me money month after month for the past year which I haven't had to pay a dime for advertising!  You can do the same with the start of your article marketing campaigns.

In the next chapter I will show you how to get even more leads and earn more money using the same CPA offer over and over again.  Since I simply targeted my article on a couple keywords, I can expand my leads and earnings even further by targeting even more keywords in this niche.  In this particular loan modification niche, there are hundreds of keywords that users are searching for based on the results I got back from the Google keyword tool.  I can write another article for instance on the keyword "where to start a loan modification", as people are searching for this every day.  It gives you a different perspective and topic to write on for your new article, but you can promote the same exact CPA offer, in my case the loan modification one, as it will lead the user to find out where they can get a loan modification when they fill out their info on the site.

Section I - Intermediate

Poll Technique

If you haven't figured out which CPA offers are the easiest to convert and in some cases make great money with, it's definitely one field offers.  One field offers are simply those that when the user gets to the offer landing page is required to enter their email address or a zip code to continue onto the next page.  You get credit for the lead once they submit their email address or zip code (depending on the offer) no matter what the user does next.  These leads will typically pay anywhere from $1.00 to $1.50 on average, which makes the one field offers attractive since they are usually easy to convert.

The poll technique is not new, but it does work over and over again because one of the methods for getting traffic is always current breaking news.  The poll technique is exactly what it sounds like as you are asking your visitor a simple question like "Which Coffee Do You Prefer? Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts"  This is the teaser question that entices the user to pick their choice and then get to the offer page by entering their email address or zip code (whichever field the CPA offer uses).  Typically every one field offer will give away some type of gift card, cash, or other items to get the user to continue onto the offer.  See the example below:

In this case if the user selects Dunkin Donuts from your question, you would direct them to this offer.  Otherwise if the user selected Starbucks, you would send them to a Starbucks offer where they can get a $250 gift card for their participation.  You will notice that for your user to get the $250 gift card to dunkin donuts as shown above, they will need to participate in takings surveys, try out services or products, etc. in return for the gift card.  However, you're not really concerned about if the user completes anything after entering their email address as you will get credit for the lead immediately after they enter their email and click continue.

Now you're probably wondering how you setup these polls and how do you get traffic to them?  You can setup polls and get traffic to them a number of different ways and I will show you some examples below.  You can put polls on your own website that relate to your site content.  For instance if you had a food blog or recipe site, you could potentially put this Dunkin Donuts offer somewhere on your site since many of your visitors would be into food related offers such as this one.

The other way you can setup polls is to simply use a generic offer such as ones like "Get a $250 Gas Card" or "$1,000 Wal-Mart Gift Card" that will cater to almost all general visitors.  One example where I have a website using a poll that is: DonateYourRV.net.  You can see as pictured below, it's just a one page simple site that gives information on how a person can donate their RV and then asks them a question at the bottom of the page.  This is my poll where I can offer the user a gas card for their vote.

As you will see from above, it's a site that gives some simple information on how a person can donate their RV and then has a poll at the bottom of the page that relates to the content within my site.  Once the user clicks on the "Yes" or "No" link to Vote, they will get taken to a CPA offer where if they enter their email address on that page, I will get paid $1.10 for each email submission.  It's important to note that I use the same affiliate link for both answers "Yes" and "No".  In a later chapter I will show you step by step on how to setup a simple site like this that makes money on auto-pilot, but the purpose of this chapter is to show you how you can setup the poll technique on your own content sites that you have existing or create on your own using my methods in a later chapter.

I've seen in some cases where people that use the poll technique actually have tracking or poll software setup on their site that will show their visitors how many people actually voted after the user themselves vote.  There are free sites out there where you can create your own free poll like http://www.micropoll.com/ however, I don't use any tracking or poll software for my sites.  It's just another step I would need to setup on my website and I try to make them as simple as possible with spending as less time setting the sites up using the poll technique as I can.  I don't have any positive proof that actually using poll software on your site will convert better or earn you more leads then setting up the simple poll method I use on the example site above: www.DonateYourRV.net

Article Marketing with Polls

You can get a lot of free traffic from writing articles as they appear in the top of the search engines for particular keywords that you are targeting.  The possibilities to promote CPA offers via articles is really endless.  For each CPA offer there is, usually there are dozens and even sometimes hundreds of keywords that you can target and get in the top of the search engines for those keywords.  Another method of getting some instant traffic to your articles is the "Poll" method which I explained about in another chapter.

Using the techniques I mentioned in the polls, simply write an article about the breaking news or hot items searched for in Google or Yahoo search trends.  I will give you two examples of two breaking news topics that I wrote a couple articles on that drove thousands of visitors to my article in just a couple days bringing me in hundreds of dollars in leads from CPA offers.

When I was searching through Google trends, I noticed that the search term "Rihanna beaten / Chris Brown fight / jail" with all kinds of different phrases similar to this where all over the top 100 searches in Google for the last day or so.  This seemed like a good topic to write an article on and earn some money with the "poll technique" very quickly if I can rank high on the search engines for some good keywords.  So when I did my keyword research, I found that I wanted to actually target two keyword phrases.  One was "Chris Brown Beats Rihanna" and the other "Chris Brown Arrested".  You will see my article below along with how I setup the poll technique.

You will see that this article was submitted on 2/10/09 and it was instantly approved using Articles Base since my author status is on auto approve now.  When using the poll technique for breaking news always use article sites like Articles Base, Go Articles, etc.  Do not use EzineArticles or any other sites that you need to wait for your article to be approved, because sometimes by they time they are approved, the breaking news isn't searched as much as it was when it first came out.

I went to a couple of websites on the actual story about the incident that happened and had enough info to write an article.  Remember, you can basically take the information you read on a particular website and put your own words, your own opinion, or twist on it to make sure the content is unique and not blatantly copied directly for the source.  I immediately got a first page listing in Google for keyword "Chris Brown beats Rihanna".  The article actually stayed on the first page for several weeks.  Now with breaking news articles, I don't bother with trying to get back links because this type of news will eventually die away after a few weeks or months so it's not really necessary to maintain top results.

However, if I did get back links for this article, I could of possible ranked in a higher position on the first page, but I was okay with where I was at since it was getting hundreds of views per day.  Now that it's a little less than two months old, the article has gotten 3,887 views resulting in about 65 email submit leads.  The main offer I promoted was for a free IPod Touch as noted in the article, but as I saw it wasn't converting very well, I changed it to a Free $1,000 Wal-Mart gift card which converted much better.

From just this one article I made $76+ in just a couple short weeks, but the majority of the traffic and money came in the first couple of days when the news was hot.  You can do this over and over again each day as there is usually always some breaking news or in general heavy volume on new search terms each day where you can take advantage of getting this traffic through this article marketing method.

It's important to note that you will want to monitor your results early to determine if you need to switch your email submit offer to something that might convert better.  As in my case I saw that I was only getting $.06 EPC with the IPod Touch offer and when I switched over to the $1,000 Wal-Mart gift card, I almost quadrupled by EPC to $.22.  So if I was promoting the Wal-Mart gift card from the beginning I could of probably made a lot more money, but this is something you will simply need to test and learn on your own with different offers.

There are a couple of ways where you can change your affiliate link as I did from the IPod Touch CPA offer to the Wal-Mart gift card.  One option is to simply edit your article and change the links there, however the problem with that is it takes time to get approved.  For whatever reason, Articles Base will need to review any edit changes to your article so while it's in review, the article is actually taken down and visitors that see your article in the search engine, will get a missing page.

The other option which is much better, is to control the links on your own website domain (SEE CHAPTER XXXX FOR DETAILS). This was you always have the same link in the article which points to your domain name.  Then you can easily control the affiliate links on your domain name and change them instantly which doesn't affect editing your article.

The whole process of researching a topic, keywords, and writing the article probably only took me about 20 minutes of work and it netted me $76+ in pure profit.  After this article was done, the next day it was time to Google trends again to see what was the new hot search term for the past 24 hours.  In this example I saw that there had been a news report about the famous major league baseball player, Roberto Alomar apparently was reported to have Aids.

After doing my keyword research I found that I was simply going to target the keyword "Roberto Alomar Aids".  A few hours after I submitted the article it appeared on the first page for the keywords I was targeting and I received another few hundred views per day on the article.  Over the next few weeks it totaled to 2,222 article views and another $30+ in leads with about 20 minutes of more work.

To this day, my article is still holding strong on the first page of Google for keyword "Roberto Alomar Aids" without having to do any further work or get any back links to the article to maintain it's position.  It probably won't get much more traffic in the future unless some other news comes out about Roberto Alomar and aids, but this breaking news technique is to simply capture the high volume search traffic on breaking news, make some easy money getting leads via the poll technique, and move onto the next article.

Even if you only get a little as $5 or $10 earned per article, if you do this each day, that's an extra $150/$300 in pure profit each month on just this simple technique.  Some of your articles might never make it to the top of search engines and make any money, but other times you will get a winning article that can make you over $75 like my Rihanna / Chris Brown article did.

Using Google Trends with Article Marketing

I was checking Google Trends for the day and looking through some search terms I found an interesting term that I had never heard of before called "power texting".

So I clicked on the link and found that it was getting hot in which a lot of people were searching for it.  I then did a quick Google search on the term to check out my exact competition and found there wasn't much out there.

While I was searching for this phrase I got some understanding of what the term meant and how it started.  Basically it was the technique used to win over votes for the American Idol winner of 2009 which I got enough info to write a quick article about on Articlesbase.com.  It took me about 10 minutes worth of research and writing the article in which I submitted.

Next, I bookmarked the article to get just one backlink from JumpTags.com.  About 15 minutes later, I searched the keyword phrase I was targeting again and I ended up in the #6 position in just 17 minutes!  I'm not expecting to get a ton of traffic unless this search phrase gets really hot, but this is just an easy example of how you can take lots of hot trends in Google and write an article about the information incorporating the poll technique to get some easy leads.  This article could soon turn into thousands of views and hundreds of leads just like my other ones did as shown above.

You will see in my article that I've got two places where I put my poll to get maximum clicks to my email submit offer.

Using Google Trends with PPC & Article Marketing

Another way that I earn leads is getting an instant flood of traffic using Google trends to find out what people are searching for at the moment to see what's hot.  You can go to this link to find out what people are searching for up to the date or even past days.  For this technique I always look at the day before or current day to find out what keywords I want to get my traffic from.

For this example I found out that "spin gym" was the top search phrase for the previous day which means it's probably getting lots of searches which I can try and target a portion of this traffic to my website using PPC and lead them to a CPA offer.

You can click on the keyword to get detailed information about similar search phrases and blog / news articles on about what the "spin gym" is.

Without even having to click on the actual articles or blog posts I can already tell that the spin gym is a new fitness product that you is portable you can take on the go.  Now that I know what niche this keyword is in, it's time to find a CPA offer that will fit well with this.

Using Hydra network as an example, I searched for fitness offers and found a couple good ones I can use to get my leads.

I have a couple options of fitness products that I can earn from sales or free trials, but there is one offer that is a simple zip code submit where I can get easy leads from.  I could try any of these offers, but in this example, I chose the one field email address offer where the user can get a free 24-hour fitness membership.

Next, it's time to setup my landing page where I am going to lead the user to the CPA offer.  This can be the UGLIEST page ever and it only took me 1 minute to setup.  I don't care how it looks, because my main focus is for the user to click on the ad for the offer that will direct them to the CPA offer page.  Basically my landing page has a title, then the graphics of the CPA offer I copied, and some text underneath that I grabbed from an article I wrote.

I uploaded this page to a domain that I already own and named the page "spin-gym.html" which you should always use the keyword in the page name and title of it to get a good quality score in Adwords.

Next, it's time to setup my ad on Adwords.  For this example all I just need to let the user know about the offer I am advertising and I came up with something like this below.

Then for the keywords all I need to do is enter in the #1 searched term in google trends with all the match types so I get anything related to "spin gym".  I can get clicks to my ad as low as $0.03 and probably even lower as that is my maximum I am willing to pay.

Just by setting up the simple landing page and the ad, I already have a quality score of 10/10 which is the best you can get.  This means that my ad will be shown as much as possible at the lowest price.

How do I know this will be profitable? Well I don't, that's why I monitor all new campaigns I setup for the next 24 hours.  For every 50 cents I spent on clicks which should give me about 16 clicks I should convert at least one user into submitting their email address which will give me a $1.30 lead.  Turns my profit into 80 cents for each 16 clicks I can get to my ad.

By only spending .03 per click I won't be losing much money if this ad campaign doesn't work for me.  I know from past experiences that if you can get clicks that low, that you should be able to make money driving users to the one field submit offers.

After waiting a few minutes, I searched for the keyword on Google and my ad was #1 in the sponsored search with no other competition!

I will monitor both my Adwords campaign and Hydra account to see if this will be a profitable campaign, but from doing this type of technique in the past, I know it can be.  Hopefully this gives you some good ideas on how to setup your own PPC campaigns using Google trends as a starting point.

The nice thing about PPC is that you don't have to wait too long or wonder and hope that your ad or article will make it to the top of Google unlike with getting natural search engine rankings.

Just be sure to monitor your new campaigns by the hour if you can as you should be able to tell if the campaign will be a winner right away after the first 100 to 150 clicks to your ad.  If I haven't made a profit after 150 clicks to my ad (which my ad costs would be higher than the money I made in CPA leads offers) it's time to pull the plug and pause or delete the Adwords campaign.

I've found that some niches work much better in making money with CPA offers than others.  You just need to be sure to tie the Google trend keyword into a similar CPA offer so that it matches the interest of the user searching for that keyword phrase.

To maximize my results I also wrote an article using the techniques explained earlier in this chapter and which has already worked well for me.

I made it in the top for two good keywords

By getting good results in Google, I've already had 477 visits to my article in just a couple days!

Earning Money from CPA Offers from 1 Page Mini Sites

In this chapter I am going to explain how you can earn money from CPA offers setting up simple one page mini sites.  Using the example site again that I created: www.DonateYourRV.net, I setup this website with the intention of earning money using the poll technique where I could earn leads from one field email submit offers.  The first thing that I did which is important in many of the techniques you will do to earn money with CPA offers is to do keyword research and eventually pick a particular category or niche that you are going to focus on.  Following the keyword research techniques that I explained earlier, I found that I wanted to target the keyword phrase "donate your rv" as it was getting a few hundred searches per month with not much competition.

1. The first step in creating your mini site is to purchase a domain name that has the keyword phrase you are targeting.  In my case, I wanted to register donateyourrv.com.  Unfortunately, the .com name was already taken, which is okay.  In this case, DonateYourRV.net was available so I purchased this name.  You don't necessarily need to get the .com name using this mini site technique as the .net, .org, and sometimes even .info will work just fine.  Go to Godaddy.com and register the domain name of the keyword phrase you are targeting.

2. The next step you will need to do get a hosting account so that you can host your mini site online.  I recommend using HostGator.com for hosting your mini site.  Once you have your hosting account setup, you will want to start creating your mini site on the topic you selecting around your keyword phrase.  With Hostgator you can host unlimited websites with your account which is great because you can use this technique over and over again with more sites and only pay for one hosting account with HostGator.

3. In my example I was targeting people that wanted to donate their RV to charity or other organizations that take RV's from people looking to donate them.  To get myself familiar with the topic, I simply Googled the search phrase and took information from the first couple sites that I found and pasted that into my mini site.  Then just like article marketing, I rewrote the information about "donating your rv" into my own words so that it wasn't identical to the other websites.

4. Once I had my content written for my mini site, it was time to find a CPA offer that I could promote using the poll technique.  You can choose any offer that would be targeting a general audience like get a "free gas card" or a "free grocery gift card" which I find to work the best instead of offers like "get a free purse" or "free NFL jersey" as these offers will only appeal to a certain audience.  For my example, I chose the free $250 gas card which should appeal to almost anyone that visits my website.

5. Once you have chosen your CPA offer, you will want to setup a poll at the bottom of the page.  Make it stand out like I did so that the visitor can easily see the poll question and vote.  Enter your affiliate links for the Yes and No link.

6. You can choose to add an image on your website at the top like I did or just put the title of your site.  I simply went to istockphoto.com and found an image of and RV and purchased the license to use it on my mini site for only $1.

7. Once you have the content ready to go, simply submit the information and your mini site will be created for you.

After your website is live, you will want to write some articles and get more back links so that your site can rank high in the search engines.  The main goal of getting traffic to your mini site and earning money through CPA offers is to get your mini site listed in the top of the search engines.  The important step in creating your mini site is that using your domain name as the keyword phrase will immediately rank it high in the search engines as you can see from the screen shots below.  I've ranked in the top 5 in all three major search engines for the keyword phrase that I was targeting.  To maintain a top listing you will need to get back links to the mini site which you can create an article about your topic and submit that to an article site.  Within your article, you can link to your mini site to get a back link and it will also result in more traffic to your site from all the people that view your article.

To get maximum traffic and back links, I also suggest doing the social bookmarking techniques that are explained in the Backlinks Chapter to get lots of backlinks and keep your mini site ranked high in the search engines.

Yahoo

MSN

Once you have created your mini site and gotten your back links all setup, it's time to just sit back and let the site start earning money for you.  Mini sites will take longer to rank high in the search engines compared to article marketing because of the way and timing search engines spider new websites.  Typically it will take a couple weeks or more for your site to start appearing and rank high in the search engines for the keyword phrase you are targeting.

The best part about the mini site technique is that you only have to do the work one time and then it will continue to get traffic day after day and hopefully earn you money from the CPA offers on the site.  I've had this mini site going for a little less than a year now and it still shows up in the top 5 of all three major search engines for the keyword phrase I'm targeting.  The stats show that I've made $39.60 for the CPA offer and another $26.32 with Adsense ads on my site.  It's not a ton of money but using this technique all I have to do is setup the site, then forget about it as it will continue to earn me money month after month.

CPA Income

Adsense Income

Another Example of Mini Site:

Another example of a mini site that I created using WordPress was in the Lasik surgery niche.  This is a very high paying niche for CPA offers, Adsense, etc.  Some CPA offers will pay you up to $20 for a simple lead of information the user fills out for just a few basic fields of information.  Doing my keyword research as I explained in another chapter I was able to find that I wanted to target the keyword "Lasik surgery center".  According to Google, it gets about 1,300 searches per month.

I also found out that there were under 10,000 competing websites for this search term so I was going to try and get on the first page in the search engines for this keyword phrase.

The most important technique in ranking my website high for this keyword is to register a domain name with this exact keyword phrase.  Unfortunately the LasikSurgeryCenter.com domain was already taken, but the .net was available, so I registered this name.

I then followed the same steps as I did for the first site and eventually my initial work paid off as my site was ranked on the 1st page on every major search engine!  Yes, my ugly and plain old WordPress blog is getting traffic and making me money without having to pay a dime for advertising.  You don't need to have any fancy designs or logos for your mini site as content is king.

As long as you have some valuable content on your mini site and get some backlinks to it, the search engines will love your site.  Make sure you try and follow all the steps as outlined for maximum and long term results, but the basics I mentioned should work the majority of the time.  I added Adsense to this site as well because in this niche you can easily make over $1 per click with Adsense!

Another Example

Finally, I used Google Trends to find out what many people were searching for and I came across a keyword phrase "engagement chicken recipe" that sounded interesting in which I could build a site around.  When I looked into it further, the recipe was featured on a television show so it got a lot of attention and searches.  I was going to target this keyword phrase as I found there wasn't much competition around it at all.

Using the same techniques above, I registered the domain EngagementChickenRecipe.com which was available.  With this site I used the same template and layout as I did for the DonateYourRV.net site instead of using WordPress.  Both ways work just fine, it just depends on how you want your mini site to look and if you want to ever update it easily like a blog.

Even though the keyword phrase was hot for a couple of days straight, Google indicates it still gets about 720 searches per month.

After applying all the same techniques as my other sites, I got some good results in Yahoo

And MSN

Also ranks high for keyword "engagement chicken" on Yahoo and MSN!  So that's a total of 6 great keywords I'm ranking high in for just this one site!

You can repeat this process over and over again in a variety of different topics and niches.  There is an investment involved in this technique which I had to purchase the domain name for $8.95 and then get hosting for the mini site (which can vary in cost host by host).  However with HostGator you can host unlimited domains so since I already had other sites on my hosting account the only real investment was the domain name so made a total profit of $56.94.  Again it's not a ton of money but with any technique that only takes you minimal time the first time to setup and then continues to earn you money time and time again is a great earner for you!

Setting Up Your Hosting Account

I recommend using HostGator as your hosting provider as you are able to setup unlimited websites with their service.  If you are serious about making money with CPA marketing, then you will most likely be setting up multiple websites and you can do this with HostGator on the same account.  They also have a special right now that the first month of service is only 1 cent using the coupon code below.

1. To get started setting up your hosting account, go to HostGator.com here and click on the "Order Now" button for the hosting plan.

2.  If you have your domain name already registered enter that domain or enter the new domain name you want to register and select the appropriate box to continue.

3. The next step is to select your hosting plan in which you will want the "Baby" package which will give you all you need for the purposes of CPA marketing.

4. Enter the coupon code: jury as seen below for your first month of hosting for 1 cent.

5. Review your order, and click continue to proceed.

6. Enter in your information on the checkout page to setup your hosting account.  You will receive an email from HostGator shortly that will confirm your hosting account that should contain your login and password that you will need to access your account.

7. If you have registered your domain name somewhere outside of HostGator, you will need to login to your domain registrar account (where you purchased your domain name) and update the name servers on the domain name to the information that you receive in the email from HostGator.  If you are not sure how to update the name servers, you can simply contact your domain registrar by email or phone and ask them to update the name servers for you to the information you receive from HostGator and they will do that for you.

Registering Your Domain Name

In this section I am going to show you an easy trick on how you can redirect your own domain name to an affiliate link so you can use this as your link for any articles you write for EzineArticles or other sites that do not allow affiliate links unless you use your own domain name to redirect the link.  As I mentioned earlier, there are some article sites where you can't use your own affiliate link (which is the direct link you get from a CPA offer).  To get around this, all you need to do is use a domain name you already have or purchase a new one to setup a redirection link.

1. The first step is to get or use a domain name you already have.  If you don't have a domain name, you will need to get one and I recommend using GoDaddy.com here.  If you already have a domain name you can use (even if you're using it for another website, you can still setup a redirection link on that domain name without hurting anything on that site), proceed to the next chapter "Redirecting Your Affiliate Link Using Your New Domain"

2. You can register any domain name you like and the extension such as .com, .net, .org, .info, etc. are fine as it won't matter what it is.  I noticed that .info domains are only $.99 so I'm going to go ahead and register this domain instead of the .com or .net.

3. Proceed to the next step in checking out to register your domain name:

4.  You will need to continue through the checkout process and then enter in your information to register the domain name.

5. Once you have continued and confirmed your order, you will have registered the domain name instantly.

6. The next step is to get a hosting account where you are able to host the domain name.  To learn step by step on how to setup your hosting account, see the "Setting Up Your Hosting Account" chapter.

Redirecting Your Affiliate Link Using Your New Domain

1. To redirect your affiliate link, you will first need to copy your affiliate link and paste it into "notepad" or anywhere else on your computer so you can access this again. So in this example, I will grab my affiliate link that I want to redirect by logging into the CPA network I'm going to use as you will see it below:

2. Copy that link and put it in notepad.

3. In notepad again, copy the text exactly as it is below underneath your affiliate link:

<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0; URL=INSERT-LINK-HERE">
</head>
</html>

4. Next, change the code where it says "INSERT-LINK-HERE' to your affiliate link as seen below:

5. Save this file on your computer as: index.html and remember where you saved it to.

6. Next, login to your hosting account's cpanel and click on the File Manager to upload your new index.html file you just saved.  For detailed instructions on uploading your index.html file you just created to your domain name, see this link here: http://www.cpanel.net/docs/cpanel/Uploading_files_to_your_site.htm

7. Once you have uploaded the index.html file, you will now be able to type in your domain name in your internet browser and it will automatically redirect to the CPA offer that you are promoting.

How to Setup A Landing Page

In this chapter I am going to show you how you can setup your own landing page or have someone do the work for you.  For all my landing pages, I simply have someone do the design and setup for me as I'm no good at any design work or programming the format of a landing page.  What I do is simply add my affiliate links from CPA offers and ad any text I want on the landing page after its already been created for me.  In any case I will show you how to setup your landing page both ways.

Using WordPress

The first example I will show you how to setup your own landing page for free using WordPress which is one of the best blog scripts out there which you can use for a variety of websites including landing pages.  The first thing you need to do is install WordPress on your web server.  Here are detailed instructions on how to install WordPress on your web host.  Remember you need web hosting to install WordPress and if you do not have hosting, please see the chapter on setting up your hosting account.

For my landing page using WordPress I am targeting the Playstation 3 niche and promoting a CPA email submit offer where the user can obtain a free PS3.  You will see below as it's very simple and meant to get the user to click on my affiliate link to get their Free PS3.

Once you have your WordPress installed, it's time to add the content to your new landing page.  You will need to login to the admin area of your WordPress blog which will be located at: YOURDOMAINNAME.COM/wp-admin (replace YOURDOMAINNAME with the domain name you are using).  Enter your login and password that you were given when you installed the WordPress script.

After you login, you will be at the main screen of your WordPress blog where you will be able to manage everything on your site.  Landing pages are simple so in my example I'm only going to make two posts and my site will be complete.  I will click on the Add New Post link to create my first post to my blog.

This is where I will enter the content about my site.  I am promoting a PS3 offer so I'm going to simply write how a user can get a new PS3 online at cheaper prices (and in this case free) instead of buying at their local retailer.  I'm also targeting the keyword "refurbished ps3s" so I will mention information about how a refurbished ps3 can be cheaper than a new one but be in better quality than a used console.   I add a quick title and a couple sentences in the post and Publish the post.

Most landing pages need content and not just affiliate links with CPA offers as you won't get very good conversions with just using affiliate links and if you are trying to get traffic to your landing page it will be much harder without having some kind of content on your site.  This is the reason for adding the simple post, and next I can add the affiliate links I am promoting.

The next post I simply put an action headline where the user can obtain a free PS3 which is an email submit CPA offer and I also added a free WordPress plug-in that will display current eBay auctions of refurbished PS3 items that I will earn commission on if anyone purchases the unit that clicked from my link.  Once I add the affiliate link and code for the eBay feed, I am ready to publish this post.

My landing page is all setup now and it's live on the Internet ready to get traffic and leads to my CPA offer.  I also changed the WordPress template to a different theme using a free plug-in to make the landing page look a little more professional.  There are a lot of things you can do with your WordPress blog, however the purpose of this chapter is to show you how to setup a simple landing page using WordPress.  If you want to learn more about all the things you can do with your WordPress blog, you can simply visit this link.

There are a couple reasons why you would want to setup a landing page instead of just directing your users to the CPA offer.  First, you can add multiple CPA offers and other ads on your own landing page if you build content around your topic or niche like I did in this example.  I simply made one post and am able to promote a couple of different offers on my site.  When you advertise on Google Adwords, you will also need a landing page to get a good ranking instead of just linking to your CPA offer.  Finally, you will be able to rank in the search engines for certain keywords and get free traffic to your landing page.  In my example here, I am ranked for "cheap PS3 deals" in the top 40 or so in Google.  It's not the best ranking but I haven't event spent any time trying to get a higher position by getting back links or optimizing my website.

Using Your Own Template

If you are looking for a professional looking landing page that you are going to be doing some heavy pay per click advertising with, it's recommended to either design your own landing page if you are good enough to design a website or have someone else do it for you.  I'm not good at designing probably like a lot of you, so I simply have someone design my landing page for me and I will enter the text and CPA offers I want to the page wants its setup for me.

There are many freelance sites out there where designers are looking for work and you can get a professional looking landing page for a very good price.  Sites like Guru.com, GetAFreelancer.com, and Freelancer.com are the best I have used in the past.  Freelancer.com is my favorite  and to get someone to design your landing page, you would simply post a project there explaining what you want designed.  In this example, I wanted someone to design my Acai Berry review site.  There are a few main components to every landing page that you should get when you have it designed for you which can be specified when you created your project in Freelancer or any other freelance site.  Below is the landing page that I had designed for me which the main components where designed for me as indicated.

You will notice that the header and footer are customized which are the main components of a landing page and should have your site title, sub title, etc. all in the header and sometimes footer of the site. You should also get a custom background color as you can see on the sides of the main body.  Finally, you should get a button designed that will have a link going to your CPA offer.  The overall color scheme is also customized to whatever you want.  These are the basic components of a landing page that you can get done for you and something like this should cost anywhere from $25-50 depending on which freelance site you use.

All of the text and screenshots of the Acai Berry sites that I am reviewing are done by myself once I get the design completed for me.  In this particular landing page my goal is to simply review three different companies that offer the Acai Berry diet product and have my CPA offer link setup to go to each particular site.  Review sites are one of the most popular ways to make money promoting a particular CPA offer where there are a lot of different companies offering the product such as Acai Berry.

What I did for this landing page was write a catchy title that will grab the users attention once they land on my page.

Then, I created a brief intro that explains what acai berry is and giving them information on different companies that offer the acai berry product where they can purchase it.

Next, I picked three good paying CPA offers for the acai berry product and set these up as my affiliate links.  All I did was go to each site, take a screen shot of the website using SnagIt.com and then copied text from their site and put it on my landing page.  I rewrote some of the information to make it my own, but since you are promoting their product you should be able to copy anything from their site.

The landing page should be setup for you so that all you need to do is enter the text like I did as the designer should send you HTML files to edit the information.  I use Microsoft Front Page to edit my landing page but any web editing software should do the trick for you.  I also add a Terms, Privacy Policy, and Contact Us links at the bottom of the landing page to make it look creditable and professional.  These pages are simple to create and you can use the same layout as your landing page, but just save a copy of the page for each page you setup like one for the terms, privacy, and contact us.  Once you have the landing page setup with your CPA links and information, it's ready to upload to your web host.  All you need to do is upload all the files that you received from your designer which should have one HTML file (your main landing page) and then all your images used to create the page.

Make sure that you also optimize your landing page to use a good title and keywords throughout your page so that you rank high on the search engines and pay per click advertising for those keywords.  You can see that I made headlines and bold keywords throughout my landing page for "acai berry reviews", "acai berry scam", etc.  You should be able to format your text and title tag for your landing page with any web editing software.

Driving Traffic Using Pay Per Click Advertising

Using pay per click advertising can be an excellent and easy way to make money promoting CPA offers if you know what you are doing.  I only recommend using pay per click advertising or PPC techniques after you have tried free advertising and you have a little money to invest in spending.  Obviously PPC traffic is exactly what it sounds, you have to pay for it.  So if you don't know exactly what you are doing, you can burn a lot of money using PPC and not getting any results as I have seen this happen to people time and time again.

To give you an example of PPC ads, they are the small advertisements you see at the very top or right side of the search engines that are labeled "Sponsored Results"

Doing a search in Google for the popular acai berry products that are available in which many CPA networks have acai berry offers that publishers are promoting as you can see above.  You will see that there are a lot of people that are paying Google to have their website listed on the first page of the search for the keyword "acai berry".  With PPC, every time a user that searches for something and clicks on a website that is in the Sponsored Section, as seen above, the advertiser has to pay Google for that click.  The overall ranking of where your website appears in the Sponsored Links is simple as you have to bid for your position.  The higher you bid for each time someone clicks on your ad, the higher you will rank.  There are a few other factors involved in the ranking system, however to understand the basics of PPC, just know that the higher you bid for someone to click on your ad, the higher you will appear in the search results.

So if you look at the first ad that shows up in the example above with the title "Acai Berry - Warning" this advertiser may have bid $0.55 for each time someone clicks on their ad.  You will only pay Google for each time someone clicks on the ad and then gets to your website.  The next advertiser with the title "Dr Oz Acai Berry Warning" may have bid $.50 for each click.  So as you can see with PPC advertising it's all about bidding and paying for each time someone clicks on your ad to get to your website.

Now that you have a general idea of what PPC is all about, I am going to show you step by step how to setup an ad in Google.  I recommend using Google Adwords and Yahoo for PPC advertisements as these two search engines have converted the best for me in bringing me quality traffic and leads to my CPA offers.  In my example, I'm going to setup an ad promoting a website that I am reviewing acai berry products.  I know that acai berry products are very hot and converting well because almost every CPA network that I am with has a few acai berry CPA offers that are available to promote.

Acai berry is a weight loss product that has been featured on Oprah, Rachel Ray, Dr. Oz, and other famous people promoting the product.  What makes this CPA offer attractive like many other weight loss CPA offers is that it allows the user to get a bottle of acai berry for free as they only pay around $5 for shipping and handling.  The CPA offers for acai berry typically pay out an average of $35 per free trial, so it's an excellent payout for giving away a free trial.  The companies that sell the acai berry product can afford to do this because after the free trial period is over, the company will automatically keep sending the consumer acai berry bottles until they cancel.  However, even if the consumer cancels their acai berry subscription and only takes advantage of the free trial, you still get paid the full $35 for simply getting the user to sign up in the beginning.

Setting up the Ad on Google Adwords

The first thing you need to do is go to Google Adwords here and then login to your account.  If you do not have a Google Adwords account, you will need to click on the "Start Now" button and go through the registration process in getting signed up.

The next step would be to click on the solution that is right for you.  If you are brand new to advertising on Google, then click on the "Starter Edition" and view the "Sign-up Demo" if you need the step by step instruction on getting your Adwords account setup.

Once you have your account setup, it's time to setup the ad.  Once I get logged into my account, I want to select the "New Online Campaign" link and then "Start with Keywords"

You want to give your new campaign a name so that you can easily identify it in your Adwords account.  The ad group name can be anything you want in case you setup multiple ad groups for different websites, keywords, etc.  In this example I have a website that I review a couple different acai berry CPA offers so I am going to label the ad group as "review site".  Then I select English language and US location because the acai berry CPA offers I am promoting are only available in the U.S.  Then I click continue to proceed.

The next step is to create your ad that people will see when they search for the keywords that you are bidding on.  You will notice that the headline and text below will change accordingly as you enter the text so you can see exactly how it looks.  You want to make the Headline stand out as much as you can to get attention from users searching through all the other Sponsored ads and natural listings that show up in Google.

One easy way to get a good headline and description of your ad is to search for the keywords you are going to bid on in Google yourself and see what kind of information pops up.  I found that a lot of people where using similar advertising content as I have listed above, however I changed up a few things to make it my own ad.  TIP: If there are people that are advertising the same type of ad headlines and text, chances are this ad is working out very well.

You can also create multiple ads later on and rotate them through automatically and Google will display the ad that is working the best for you.  Once I have my ad written, I enter in the Display URL which is simply the address of my website that I am promoting.  The destination URL is the exact path I want the user to land on.  In this case it's the same as the Display URL, but if you wanted to target different keywords or have different landing pages, you could have separate destination URL's like www.Acai-Berry-Scam.com/side-effects.html or www.Acai-Berry-Scam.com/benefits.html as an example.

The next step is to choose the keywords that you want to bid on and drive people to your website with.  Google has a keyword tool that will show you all the different types of keywords people are searching for (in my case acai berry).  So I will enter that phrase in and see what else I can target for my keywords.

Google brings back dozens of different keywords that people are searching for about acai berry as you will see below

To use the best keywords, you need to focus on how you are promoting the CPA offers.  In my case I am reviewing different acai berry products where users can get a free trial with.  So I want to use keywords like acai berry free trial, acai berry reviews, acai berry scam, etc.  Anything like acai berry side effects, acai berry power 500, and other unrelated keywords are not good to use because the user won't find that info on my website so I would be wasting my money using those keywords.

Once I have my keywords that I want to bid on I will enter those and click on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page.

The next thing  I need to do is enter my daily budget and maxim CPC bid.  The daily budget will determine whatever you want to set it as and you would never spend over that amount in one day.  In my case I'm going to set it at $100 and my CPC (which is maximum cost per click bid).  This is the amount that I would pay maximum if someone would click on my ad.  In my case I'm going to use $.51 as a maximum number and click continue.

Then I will get to review your ad, keywords, and other details and then I will save my campaign to make it live.

Once the campaign is live, it will begin showing up in Google on the keywords that I am bidding on after a few minutes or so.  Here is where I can track and monitor my results of the particular ad group I just set up.

Google Quality Score

If you are looking to advertise on Google Adwords through pay per click campaigns, you must know about the Google quality score or you might never be able to get any of your ads properly showing up on the Google search.  I'm not going to go in depth on this issue, as I will provide links that do below.  Basically the main thing that you need to know about the Google Quality Score is that it's a score that Google assigns to you on how your ad you place is relevant to the keywords your bidding on along with if they show up on the website you are directing your visitors to.

Here is detailed description on what the 'Quality Score' is and how it's calculated: http://adwords.google.com/support/aw/bin/answer.py?answer=10215

Once you know what it is and how its calculated see the following links on how to master your Google Quality Score once you start setting up Adwords campaigns:

Setting up the Ad on Yahoo

I'm also going to show you how to setup the ad on Yahoo step by step as you can gain more traffic through this search engine and sometimes you will be able to pay a lower cost per click compared to Yahoo since more people use only Google to advertise.  For me, I like to maximize my revenue potential, so setting up an ad on Yahoo is very simple to do.

The first step is to sign up for Yahoo Search Marketing here and this link will also give you a credit of $25 in FREE advertising.  Click on the Sign up button to get your $25 credit.

The next step is to enter in information about what market and time zone you are in and want to target.  You can change which countries you want to target at anytime depending on your campaigns, but this would be the default in your account.

The next screen will ask if I want to target specific regions for my first campaign.  In my case the acai berry products that I am going to promote on the website I am advertising on Yahoo search only caters to the U.S., so I'm going to select "Specific Regions" and then check the United States box and click next at the bottom of the screen.

The next step will ask me for the keywords I'm going to target.  I'm just going to copy the same keywords that I used for Google Adwords for Yahoo just to start with.  I can always add more keywords later on by editing my campaign.

It's time to select how much I want to bid per click by clicking on the "Next: Pricing" button.

With Yahoo, I'm going to bid a little less than I did for Google because as I mentioned before in my experience it seems that less people advertise on Yahoo search so in turn, that will give me less cost in bidding on my keywords.  The first thing to do is enter my daily budget which I'm also going to set at $100 which I did for Google.  This is actually a budget for your account level which means for every campaign you setup.  You can always change this amount later on as you build more campaigns, but for this example, I'm going to just say that the "acai berry" website that I'm going to advertise is my only campaign, so $100 daily budget will work fine.

Next, I will enter in my maximum bid per ad click and it will also show me how many estimated clicks I should receive with that amount.  Based on my $.41 maximum cost per click it's telling me I should expect to see around 3 clicks per day and 90 per month.

It's now time to create my ad as it will show up in Yahoo search.  To make it simple, I'm going to use the same exact ad I used for Google

I can now review my ad, keywords, budget, etc. on this page to make sure everything looks good before the ad starts showing up on Yahoo search.  You will also need to enter in your account information to setup your Yahoo search marketing account. After you click the "Activate Now" button, you will need to enter in your billing information on the next screen before your ad goes live on Yahoo.

That's it, now you can begin checking your statistics within the next 24 hours to see how the ad is performing.

Getting Backlinks to Your Website

One of the most important things for your website, landing page, articles, etc. that you create is to get as many backlinks to your site as you can so that it will rank high in the search engines and continue to stay there over time.  A backlink is simply another website that has listed your site somewhere on their website.  For example, if you have a chicken recipe site that lists all kinds of different chicken recipes, there might be another webmaster that has a site that contains all kinds of recipes.  The webmaster is looking for information on chicken recipes, finds your website, and places a link of your site on their website which gives you a backlink. The search engines see that if a website has a lot of backlinks it must mean that this website contains a lot of good information and is trusted and used by other websites.

There are a lot of ways to get backlinks to your website and many articles are written about this topic online which you can see in detail here: http://www.14thc.com/articles/how-to-get-free-backlinks

Here are my recommendation sites on how to get backlinks for your website, article, etc.  Each site that is listed below will have their own way of how you submit your page for a backlink and you will most likely have to register to the site if it's your first time.

Submitting to Social Bookmark Sites

1. http://Mixx.com

Once you get logged in, I went ahead and submitted a link of whichever site, article, etc. to Mixx (in this case it's my article from Ezine Articles as an example).

This is where you will enter some basic information about your article.  First you simply get the exact URL of the article you submitted and enter that in the page URL of Mixx.

On the next screen, you want to enter a title of the story you are submitting.  In this case I simply abbreviate everything from my article.  Enter in a short description, pick a category or two, and enter in your keywords that you are trying to rank for on the search engines.

2. http://Folkd.com

In this example, I'm going to get a backlink for one of my websites.  After you register for the first time, login and click on "Add a New Link".

Select the bookmark option and then enter the URL of the page you want to get a backlink to.

Enter in your title and short description of your page along with a tag or two (keywords you are targeting)

3. http://Jumptags.com

Register to the site and then login to click on the "Submit a link to Jumptags"

Select the "Add bookmark" option

I add the information about your page just like I did with the other sites above:

4. http://Wobblog.com

Register as a new user to Wobblog and click on the "Submit a new story" link after getting back to the home page of Wobblog.com

Next, enter the URL of the page you want to get a backlink for.

Enter in your description and title just like the other sites

Review your information and then submit your story.

5. http://Plime.com

Register to plime and then click on the submit a link button.

Enter in your details just like the other sites as you're probably getting the hang of it by now.  I try to change up the title and description just a bit so they're not identical, but I don't think it matters too much either way as you're still getting a backlink to your page.

Submitting to Web Directories

There are many other ways to get some free backlinks to your sites and web directories is an easy one.  A web directory is simply a large directory of websites that are broken up into categories and it's usually easy to submit your page to web directories.  Some of them require you to link back to their directory, but the ones listed below do not.  Submit your page to the web directories below for even more backlinks:

http://onemission.com/

http://www.somuch.com/

http://www.searchwiz.com/

http://www.infotiger.com/

Using the first site as an example, here's how to submit your page to a web directory.  Click on the category your page represents:

Then the sub category you want.

Next, click on the "Add a link" to submit your page:

Next, you will enter in the details of your page and submit it.

You will see your link instantly placed on the site.

Posting Articles

This is the most time consuming of getting backlinks, however using this method will also get you traffic to your articles.  You will need to write some good content about your page that you want to get backlinks for and then in the resource box, you would add the page to get an instant backlink.  The good thing is that you can use the same article you write and submit it to all the article sites to get lots of backlinks.  For example, my engagement chicken recipe site, I could write a simple article explaining the history of it, basic info of the ingredients, and then lead them to my site in the resource box.  With this article I will not only get backlinks to my site, but I should get even more traffic to my site from people reading the article and then clicking on my site for the actual recipe.

http://EzineArticles.com

http://articlesbase.com/

http://goarticles.com/

http://searchwarp.com/

You will simply need to go to each site above and create a free account if you don't have one already to start submitting your articles.  As I mentioned there are hundreds of other article sites, but you really only need to submit your articles to the sites listed above or only just one for that matter to get your traffic from the search engines such as Google, Yahoo, etc.  Once you have your article submitted, go ahead and login to each of the article sites listed above or any others that you choose to use and submit your article.  A few of the article sites such as EzineArticles and ArticlesBase (first few articles) will need to be approved before they are live to make sure they comply with their guidelines.

Maintaining a High Search Engine Ranking

Now that all the hard work has been done, it's just a matter of time for when your site starts showing up in the search engines for your keyword phrase your targeting.  The great thing about submitting your site to social networks, article directories, etc. is that you'll get lots of traffic from all the people that visit those sites so your hard work will pay off.  After a few days or week, start trying to search for your keyword phrase on Google and see if your website has shown up yet.  It might take some time, but eventually it will get there.

In my two examples, I'm ranked in the top of the search engines for both my keyword phrases and these sites get free traffic without me doing anything further.  It's a great way to make money on autopilot as you simply need to setup the site and do the initial work and after that it will earn money month after month.  Of course you can continue to get backlinks each month by submitting new articles and posting on other social network sites to consistently get free traffic and maintain your search engine position depending on your niche.  If there is a lot of competition in your niche you will probably need to continue to get backlinks to your site every so often, but in my case I haven't done anything since the initial setup and the sites continue to rank high each month.

Outsourcing Design Work / Landing Pages

I'm not good at designing anything and wouldn't even know where to begin on trying to create a logo or header for a mini site or landing page that I need created for any of my CPA campaigns.  That's why I outsource all my design work to freelancers that specialize in this area that are looking for work.  When you outsource work, it means that you are having someone else do the work for you and there are many sites available to you with lots of good freelancers.  The best ones that I use are Freelancer.com, GetAFreelancer.com, and Elance.com.

The process is very simple when you want to get something like a basic landing page created for you.  I placed a project on Freelancer as seen below giving a very basic description of what I needed.

After the project was submitted, I immediately got back 36 bids from people that wanted to do the job for me ranging from $10 to $125.  I only use freelancers that already have good feedback so I don't run into any issues with them.  I also look for freelancers that do quality work so I'm happy to pay more than the lowest bid because I expect the quality work in return.  That's why I picked the freelancer that quoted me $55.  Once I selected the bid, then I simply had to escrow the funds to Freelancer so that both parties are secure during the entire project.

Once my website was complete, the freelancer sent me the files, and I released the escrow payment.  It's very easy to outsource any work (not just design) by using freelance sites.  The prices are usually very low and the quality of work is very good.  If you can design your own websites, you can save a lot of money rather than outsourcing, but my main focus is to spend my time marketing my websites so they can generate revenue for me.

If you need design work done such as a landing page, help with installing your email capture form, or want a complete website built from scratch, I strongly suggest you use any of the freelance sites I mentioned with confidence to get the job done.  Just register to any of the sites and most of them you can post your project for free.  Freelancer to me is the best overall freelance site out there and its free to post your projects there.

How to Increase Your Payouts

Did you know you can usually get paid more than what the offers show for a payout in most CPA networks? There are hundreds of CPA networks out there and each one is competing for your business and revenue that you generate for them.  This gives you power to ask your affiliate manager for a raise on any particular offer that you are interested in promoting.

To give you an example, I am promoting the FreeFlys offer on one network that pays $.90 per lead but was able to get $1.05 from another network.  All I did was send an email to my affiliate manager asking them if I could get anything above $.90 that I would switch my traffic of this offer to their network.  This works well because if you are already promoting an offer on one network and getting leads, the affiliate manager knows that they have the chance to get instant revenue from you, so raising the lead amount isn't a problem for them typically.  However, it's sometimes very hard to get a raise for any offers that are under $2 because there's just not enough profit margin to go around for everyone.

Anytime I want a raise on an offer, I just send an email to my affiliate manager on that network and usually it will work every time.  Typically you need to be established making money for the network for at least a month or two consistently before they will just give you a bump on any offer.  If you can get a lot of consistent leads on one particular offer, normally this would qualify you for a lead raise.  Don't be afraid to ask for raises on leads to your affiliate manager as they will do everything they can to earn revenue with you.

What you don't want to do is ask your affiliate manager for a raise on every offer or send them an email a couple times a week asking for raises.  Make sure that you only ask for raises on offers that you are actively promoting and will generate leads for.  Because if you ask for a raise on an offer that you don't promote, it's not going to look good when you ask for a raise the next time on another offer since you didn't make yourself or the CPA network money on that particular offer.

Once you are consistently earning money with a particular CPA network, you shouldn't have any problems asking for a raise on any offer available that is set at $2 or above.

Case Studies - Live Campaigns

This will be an ongoing thread of live campaigns in different niches that I have setup on my own that you can learn from.  Not every single one of my campaigns have been profitable and actually I've had many more losers than actual winners.  However, I learned from my mistakes and by seeing live examples of my campaigns, you can learn too without having to burn up or waste money like I did.  How do you determine when a campaign is a loser or winner?  Spotting a winner is easy as it will usually make money the first day you try it out.  My rule is that when I have a campaign that has lost money for three consecutive days, it's time to pull the plug and declare the campaign as a loser.

Here are some examples of real life campaigns that I've done in the past that were losers.

1. Make Money on eBay Campaign

For this campaign there is a popular product out there just about on every CPA network that has a product that will show the user how to make money on eBay.  Typically the user will be able to get a free trial to the product and just have to pay around $5.95 for shipping and handling.  The user will need to cancel within 2 weeks or they will be billed every month around $40 for the added service the product provides.  Usually getting a lead for this offer will pay out around $32 or so.  I thought it would be a successful campaign because the landing page of the offer was very good and the user only had to pay $5.95 to try the product and I would make $32 just for the user trying it out.

I setup an ad campaign on Adwords and below is a screenshot of my results from about three days of promoting the product.  I bid on keywords that were related to the product like "make money on eBay, how to sell on eBay", etc.

You will see that it cost me almost $20 over the three days with only 28 clicks to the offer.  I didn't get any leads at all for this particular offer for the three days, so I called this campaign a loser and moved on to something else.  I might of gave up too soon on this offer as it only got 28 clicks or I could have lowered my cost per click to see how it would perform, but as I said earlier, I only give a campaign three days to determine if its going to be a winner or loser.

For this offer, I simply setup my ad on Google Adwords and then directed the user to the CPA offer and if I built a landing page to make a review site out of a couple different make money on eBay products, that might of made a difference.

2. Credit Cards Campaign

For this campaign, I picked out an offer on a CPA network that would pay out $25 for each credit card application that was filled out on their website.  The user didn't have to be approved, they just needed to fill out some information to apply for the credit card.  I thought this would be a winner because it didn't cost the user anything and just for them to fill out a form, I would get paid $25.

Just like I do for testing out new campaigns I setup an ad on Adwords advertising a Discover Card that the user could apply for.  You will see I only got 10 clicks and spent $37.73 and didn't get any leads.

It was easy to declare this campaign a loser just after a few hours because it already cost me almost double what I would of made for getting a lead.

I always test out new campaigns using PPC because I know that I will be able to get instant traffic to my offers as I always want to find out my results right away.  Sometimes I will write articles or get free traffic using my free methods, but usually I'd have to wait a day or more to find out my results and I am not always able to get the traffic I want right away to evaluate my results.  The problem that I saw with these two loser campaigns is that I was paying too much for clicks.  These two niches are very competitive with a lot of advertisers which means that I will have to pay a high cost per click to get my ad visible on the first page to get traffic.

If I were to test out these campaigns again, I would only use free traffic methods since I wouldn't have to worry about spending too much money on PPC.  My lessons learned from these campaigns are that if you are going to try and promote CPA offers that are in highly competitive niches where the cost per click on keywords are very high, you should try free advertising methods.  In my successful campaigns using PPC I am able to spend around $.10 a click which makes the campaign profitable for me.

Do's and Don'ts of CPA Marketing

CPA marketing is one of the hottest ways to make money online and is going to be the future of where advertisers put their money to pay affiliates to get leads for them.  One of the reasons that it's been so successful is that each CPA network has a dedicated affiliate manager that is willing to work with their affiliates one on one and helping them succeed in meeting their revenue goals.  With that being said, you need to be aware of a few important things when you are signed up with the CPA networks.

The most important thing that I can't stress enough is never ever get any leads by blackhat marketing.  If you don't know what blackhat marketing is, the term basically stands for obtaining leads and money incorrectly.  For example, let's say that you are promoting an email submit offer that pays out $1.50 for each email address that gets submitted to the offer.  One popular way that blackhatters market these email submit offers is they advertise on a dating site indicating the person looking to meet someone should enter their email address in to get signed up and be contacted by a large number of people looking to date them.  This is a hypothetical example, but the main point I'm trying to get across is that blackhat marketing is misleading the consumer or tricking them to submit their email address so you get credit for the lead and then not giving them the information as advertised in return.

There are a lot of people and even websites out there that advertise they make $50-$100 a day using blackhat marketing techniques and I don't understand why anyone would want to venture into this method as it's not going to help you in the long run.  If you are looking to make a few dollars in the short term, that's what blackhat marketing is for but I don't endorse that at all.  In the long run your CPA network accounts will eventually get banned and you won't be able to make money with them on legit offers ever again.

What you should do is read or skim all the newsletter emails that you get from the CPA networks.  I'm signed up with dozens of networks so I definitely don't read them all, but I do read the newsletters from the top networks in which I make the most money with.  Usually in these emails, they will give you the top performing offers that their affiliates are making the most money with.  As I indicated in a previous chapter there was an email offer that was converting very well that was advertised in the newsletter that I wasn't aware of and I tested it out for myself.  Currently this particular offer is making me anywhere between $15-$25 a day profit consistently!  That's an extra $600 in revenue that I'm receiving just because I read the newsletter and followed up on testing out the high converting offer myself!

You should also keep in contact with your affiliate manager as they can pull a lot of strings for you in regards to getting you raises on particular offers, faster payouts, etc.  Make sure you sound professional in your emails back and forth as the affiliate manager will take you seriously and if you are making money from their network, they will treat you as a first class affiliate!

Incentive Offers

There are a lot of websites out there making money through CPA incentivized offers which basically offers the user completing the CPA offer something in return for their participation.  For example, let's say that I am running an offer for NetFlix that is labeled (incentivized) and I get paid $20 for a user signing up for a free trial.

I can offer the user something in return for them signing up for the free trial to NetFlix.  The most common incentive that is offered to someone to complete the offer is cash.  Let's say that you are running a campaign to promote NetFlix and you can advertise to the user something like "$5 INSTANT REBATE" when signing up for a free NetFlix trial.  In this case the user will need to click on your affiliate link that will lead them to NetFlix and once they sign up for the free trial, you will get credit for the lead.  Let's say that you get paid $20 for the NetFlix lead, you can pay the user that signed up their $5 rebate and still have a profit of $15.  This is just one simple example, but there are many different offers that you can "incentivize" and offer the user something in return for completing the offer.

Everyone typically wins with incentive offers which is why they are very popular.  Here is a breakdown of how it really works.

A. The Publisher (Company) - In my example above, this would be NetFlix as they pay a referral or commission of $20 for example for giving the new user a free trial.  They are happy to do this as they are banking on the new customer to be a long term paying subscriber for months and years to come which will make them a lot of money on that referral.  Even if only a few people out of 10 continue after the trial they really only need 1 good subscriber to pay a couple of months to make their $20 payout profitable.

B. The Affiliate Marketer (You) - You get $20 commission for someone signing up for a free trial (which won't cost the user a penny) in the beginning so this particular incentive offer is very profitable for the affiliate marketer.  To increase your conversions, you will need to give something in return to the user that signs up for the NetFlix trial.  Typically anywhere from 25-50% of your commission will work very well.  It's easy to pay the user as I typically just send them the $5 via Paypal.

C. The User - The person that signs up for the free NetFlix trial will get two weeks free or one month of NetFlix service (whatever the promotion is) along with a percentage of your commission.  So essentially they are getting free money since they don't have to pay a dime to try out NetFlix.  That's why these type of free trial incentive offers convert very well and you can see that it's a win win situation for everyone!

Making Money with Incentive Offers

There are many sites out there where users get paid for completing offers.  Basically, the user will need to complete free trials or sign up to certain subscriptions and in return the website will pay them cash or give out free prizes in return.  Both parties win in this situation because the user is getting paid to complete offers and the website is making money from the leads of the incentive offers.  You can see this website as an example of a website that uses incentive offers to make money.

http://www.directlyfree.com/

To get your own freebie site setup similar to the one above there is a script that will handle everything you need to run your own freebie script here.  You can literally have your own freebie site setup in a day where users can go to your site, complete offers, and you get paid from the CPA offers that the users complete.  The FSR Revolution script as mentioned above will give you all the details on how to setup the site or they also offer professional installation so you can be up and running in no time.

Marketing Your Freebie Site

The key to your freebie site once you have it setup is marketing it to get users.  The easiest way to do that is to advertise and promote your site on free forums.  There are lots of free forums out there where users are looking for freebie sites where they can get paid or earn prizes for completing CPA offers.

Here are a couple good free forums that you can market your freebie site or just advertise your affiliate incentive offer links (with no website) on:

1. FreeLunchRoom.com

2. Anything4Free.com

3. FreeIpodGuide.com

4. ReferralSwapper.com

5. Freebiesociety.com/forums/index.php

Many of these forum sites are flooded with traffic and users that are looking to make money completing offers which is exactly what CPA incentive offers are classified as in part.  Once you go to these forums, you will want to go ahead and register as a user to each one to start making your posts.

Get familiar with each forum as they all have different rules and guidelines, so simply read the sticky posts and such on each forum.  I recommend starting with FreeLunchRoom.com as they are the largest freebie forum with the most traffic and users.

Once you understand the rules/guidelines of each forum, its time to start posting your offers as a new thread in the forum in the appropriate category.  You will see the term "going green" a lot which means that you offer someone a certain amount of money for them to complete an offer.  So for instance, you can make a new thread in the FreeLunchRoom.com for an incentive offer such as NetFlix Free Trial - Go Green for $10 as your title.  In the post, explain to the user that they will need to sign up to the NetFlix free trial offer under your affiliate link and you will pay them $10 upon signing up.  Once the user signs up and you get credit for the $20 lead from your CPA account, the user has "gone green" which means they completed the offer under you affiliate link, and you are now entitled to pay them $10.  For just one user "going green" on your offer, you made an easy $10 profit.

By marketing your incentive offers on forums you can direct people to your website and get them to complete the offers that way so you get traffic to your website which can lead into more completed offers for return visitors coming back.  Otherwise if you don't want to spend the money on the incentive script and creating a website, simply giving the user a direct affiliate link will work.  You want to make sure that when you send a user an affiliate link for and offer to complete that you use the subid with something that you can track the user with so that you know exactly if that particular user has completed the offer.  When multiple users are completing your offers, this will come in handy.  If you are not familiar with subid's you can login to your CPA network and it will show you how to set these up as each network is a little different.

How to Get on the 1st Page of Google Free in 3 Minutes

One of my favorite ways to get instant traffic and leads from CPA offers is to search through the hot trends daily from Google and see what people are searching for or stay up to date with current events.  With the recent death of Michael Jackson, there was a ton of media coverage and people searching for various information on Michael Jackson which I thought I could take advantage of.  With all the hype of the memorial service for Michael Jackson that was going to be aired live on television, I was going to focus on this as my starting point.

With this technique, I use article marketing to get in the first page of Google fast for various keywords and have my affiliate link to a CPA offer that relates to the article I'm writing.  I also can send traffic from the article to my website in which I can use the content unlocker and earn leads that way as well.  For this particular example, I am going to use the content unlocker to show you how I made money from the Michael Jackson current events.

It was the morning of July 7th 2009 and the memorial service for Michael Jackson was scheduled for that afternoon, so I wrote a quick article on ArticlesBase.com about Michael Jackson along with some information on the memorial.  The key is to target certain keyword phrases that you want to rank high in the search engines for.  In my particular case I was going to target ranking high for people searching for the keyword phrase "watch michael jackson memorial service online" as I figured that since this was on during the week the majority of people were going to be at work and wanted to be able to stream it live from their computer.  Within my article, I put several links (ArticlesBase.com allows 2 within the body of the article and 1 in the resource box) all linking to my website where I had my content unlocker setup.

The key to this technique is to target the title of your article with the keyword phrase you want to rank for and also include some of those keywords within the description of your article as shown below:

Google loves article directories such as this one so you can expect to get high rankings very quick for longer tail keyword phrases like this one.  I checked my results in Google for the keyword phrase I was targeting and found that my article showed up in just 3 minutes from when I submitted it.  I didn't do any bookmarking or getting back linking of this article as it just ranked naturally because of the way that Google indexes article sites fast.

Once the user clicked on my link within the article that shows them where to stream the memorial service online, it will direct them to a page I had already setup on an existing website I had to stream the service.  I added the content unlocker code from InstantDollarz.com to lock the page so the user had to complete a survey to get access to the live stream.

After the user completes the survey the page will unlock and once they click on the play button it will direct them to a news website where they can actually watch the live stream so it's a win-win situation for both of us. With hundreds of views in just 1 day, I found that I had received several visitors to my site that converted into leads and easy money.  The whole process only took me about 30 minutes to write the short article and setup my content unlocker page on an existing website I had.

Making Money on Forums

A quick way to get a lot of instant and free traffic is to advertise on popular forums where you can incorporate certain CPA offers that match the forums description.  This type of method you need to be cautious of, because when you contribute and join a new forum that is very popular and gets a lot of traffic you really need to provide some value in your posts and don't just spam the forum with your CPA links.

In this example, I'm going to show you how I found a CPA offer on Azoogle that the user can get Free MP3's they can download to their computer.  It's a simple one field offer that I found on Azoogle that will pay $0.75 for each person that submits their email address to register to the site where they can download their free MP3's.

Once I have my offer picked out, I needed to create a simple landing page on my own domain name to advertise the offer.  You could also just use a domain name that is related to the offer and redirect it to your affiliate link.  You need to either have your own domain name or landing page setup because you can't simply post your affiliate link in the forum.

In my case I registered the domain name MP3sUnlimited.info (Only $2.99 for .info domain) in which I setup the simple landing page with a link on that page to the CPA offer.  I got all the images directly from the CPA offer so it was easy to setup.  I setup a landing page in case I wanted to ad other ways to earn money from this one page site instead of just sending all the traffic directly to the CPA offer.

Once I have the landing page setup, it's time to post my link on a freebie forum.  Freebie forums are great because they get a ton of traffic where users are ready to get anything free they can.  The freebie forum I used for this example is:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/

At first, I had to register to the forum and then I posted my link in the Freebies section of this forum that is getting a lot of views as you can see below:

I put in a simple title in with my ad and linking to my website as seen below:

I suspect this offer should do very well because the user can really get 3 free MP3's as I tested out the offer myself and I advise you do the same when selecting a free offer to test to make sure it's really free so you don't get any complaints from other users in the forum.

There are hundreds if not thousands of freebie CPA offers that you can browse through and use this same technique to advertise on this forum or any other freebie forum.

Here are a couple of the top freebie forums:

http://forums.slickdeals.net/

http://www.bigbigforums.com

http://www.spoofee.com/forum

To find a list of other freebie forums, simply google the keyword phrase "freebie forums, free stuff forum, etc."  Register to each one of these and try to make a couple of contributions and posts to the forum before you simply post links to your CPA offers.  The more posts you have, the more credible you are to the forum and the more likely users will trust you in clicking on your freebie link that eventually directs to your CPA offer.

Real Life Profitable Campaigns

In this section you are about to see first hand my exact profitable campaigns that have been earning me hundreds of dollars in revenue per day.  Surely you can copy my success and start your own campaigns in these same areas, but most importantly my goal in this section is to get you to think about all the other possibilities out there by using these techniques on other offers and niches.

I will be giving away my best kept secrets on making great money with CPA marketing and you may have heard of some of these techniques, but I assure you I've probably got some new ideas and methods that you can use to start your own campaigns and copy my success.

Ringtones Campaign

If you haven't heard yet, making money promoting ringtone CPA offers is one of the hottest niches around and some affiliates are making thousands of dollars per DAY in leads.  There is a time where I made close to $1,000 profit in one day.  Almost every CPA network has ringtone offers available where the user simply needs to enter their cell phone number and confirm a pin number they receive to get ringtones to their phone.  The user does not need to have a credit card to get ringtones, but typically they will sign up for a $9.99 subscription added to their cell phone bill where they can get new ringtones each month.

I've gotten as high as $20 per lead for ringtone offers.  They convert very easily because the user simply needs to enter their phone number and confirm a pin number for you to get credit for the lead.  However, making money promoting ringtones has gotten harder as of late because the FTC and other agencies are cracking down on the ringtone advertisers if they are not promoted or marketed properly.  Many affiliates in the past were promoting "free" ringtones when really the user will be paying around $9.99 per month for the ringtone subscription.  In today's market that means that there are stricter rules and it's a lot harder to advertise and promote ringtone CPA offers.  With that being said, there is a lot LESS competition in this niche.  Some affiliates simply don't have the time and energy to comply with all the rules when advertising ringtone offers, but in my case I take the time to advertise correctly as I know in the long run my ads will continue to make me money.

I run my ringtone campaigns a couple of different ways to maximize my traffic and revenue.  I make the most money from promoting the offer through pay per click advertising on Google and Yahoo, although I do article marketing as well to get more free traffic.  The first way I will show you how I promote my ringtone offers is through pay per click advertising through Google.  The first thing you need to do is find a ringtone offer and as I mentioned there are hundreds of them.  One of my favorite offers is Thumbplay and SendMeMobile which allows me to send my traffic to hundreds of different landing pages so I can target my ads and traffic.  This is one of my secret techniques which is also one of my most profitable campaigns; targeting my ringtone traffic!  For example, there are literally thousands of different popular songs out there that people are searching for as ringtones.  I setup hundreds of different ads for each song that all send the person to the landing page of that particular song.

You might be thinking it's a lot of work to setup an ad on Google Adwords for hundreds of songs, which it is at first, however I found it's the most profitable for me.  You see there are a lot of lazy affiliates out there that promote ringtone offers under the keyword "ringtones" which gets thousands of searches per day.  The only problem is that there is a lot of competition for this keyword so you will be paying a lot of money per click to get your ad noticed at the top of the search.  Instead I focus on smaller keywords which I can rank #1 for and pay very little cost per click because there is hardly any competition.

As an example, I will show you a live campaign I have going for the ringtone song called "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga which has been #1 on the U.S. charts for many weeks straight.  When I search for: just dance ringtone in Google you will see my ad show up #1.

I'm only paying around $.09 per click as opposed to around $.50 per click for the number one spot for the keyword "ringtones".  Now this ad doesn't get me a ton of traffic, but as I setup different ads for hundreds of songs it all adds up to a substantial amount of clicks per day to all my ads combined.  When a user clicks on this particular ad I have a targeted landing page for each song I advertise on as seen below.  You will notice it's very simple and user friendly as I want the user to immediately click on their particular cell phone carrier that will direct them to the CPA ringtone offer I'm promoting.

Once the user selects their carrier, they will be directed to the CPA offer and in this case, it's sending them to a page where they can preview and download the exact song that I am advertising on which is Just Dance by Lady Gaga.  My conversions are very high with this marketing technique because all my traffic is targeted to exactly what the user is searching for.  That is one of the biggest keys to success in Internet Marketing and that has made me very successful in all of my campaigns.  You will see that all the user has to do in order to download the ringtone they are searching for is enter their phone number, agree to the terms, and confirm the pin number they receive back as an instant text message.

I repeat this process for hundreds of other songs by creating a separate landing page for each song/artist, and a separate ad on Google and Yahoo.  I use the same landing page template over and over again, just simply change the heading of each one to target the exact song I'm advertising on.  Once the landing page is setup I create the ad on Google and Yahoo with the song title/artist name as the headline.  There are only a couple of ringtone offers where you are able to send your visitors to the exact song/artist you are promoting and SendMeMobile & ThumbPlay are two of them that I have used in the past.  Otherwise, if I were advertising on keywords that are more in general like "ringtones" or "download ringtones", I would send them to a landing page from a ringtone offer below that doesn't target any specific song names:

Another way to get traffic to my ringtone offers is to setup ads on USFreeAds.com which I've gotten a lot of free traffic from the ad ranking high in Google.  For example another popular song that users are searching for as a ringtone is called "Right Round" by Flo Rida.  You will see a sample ad that was placed on USFreeAds.com which directs users to the CPA ringtone offer:

You will notice that there have been over 3,321 people that have viewed this ad and that is because it ranks in Google as #2 for the keyword "right round ringtone".  This is all free traffic which you can setup over and over again for hundreds of different songs.  It's easy to rank high in the search engines for song / artist names because there are not too many websites that are optimizing this keyword phrase as opposed to ringtone keywords in general.

Combining pay per click advertising and free advertising targeting song names and artists allows for lots of traffic and leads.  The average payout for someone that signs up for the ringtone offer is about $15 so it's a nice payout that has converted for me very well for years now.

As Seen on TV Products

This is another one of my favorite ways to earn money with "As Seen on TV" products.  You've probably seen commercials or infomercials on TV for products like: Cash4Gold, ShamWow, Snuggie, etc. just to name a few.  Many of these companies will allow CPA networks to have affiliates promote their products online.  They usually offer a generous commission percentage for the sale of their product or just by getting a lead for someone filling out a form on their website.

There is usually one big restriction on promoting these "As Seen on TV" products is that you cannot bid on their name or trademark in the search engines.  So for example, if I was going to promote the ShamWow product, I could not setup a Google ad campaign and bid on keywords like "ShamWow" "ShamWow.com", etc.  Sometimes companies will have a restriction where you can't outbid their ad campaign. So for instance if that was the case for ShamWow and they had an ad on Google at the #1 spot, I could not outbid them on my keyword bids to takeover the number 1 spot.  I could still advertise on Adwords for their keyword "ShamWow", just not by outbidding them so my ad appears above theirs.

The one big loophole that I call it with restrictions on "As Seen on TV" products is that the restriction is you can't "bid" on any keywords for the product name or trademark.  For me, that immediately throws out all PPC campaigns because those require me to bid and pay for keywords.  However, what that does not imply is getting your website, article, blog, etc. in the search engine organically without using PPC.  Since the competition on keywords of product names like "ShamWow", "Snuggie", etc. is not as big as keywords like "towels" or "blankets", its usually easy to rank in the first couple pages of the search engines by optimizing the product name keywords on articles, websites, blogs, etc.

To promote my "As Seen on TV" product, I first found one in Azoogle and read the description of the campaign.

Interestingly enough, it doesn't say anything about using their name "ShamWow" in your campaigns, however it does indicate you can't use search traffic which would be the same as PPC in this case.  However it does say that you can display a web banner, email, incentive, and text links are okay.  For this campaign, I'm going to write an article about the ShamWow reviewing it.  To get my content for the article, I simply search on Google for "Shamwow review" and I find dozens of website that review the product.  Taking some of this content, rewording it, and making it my own, I have enough content to write my own article and review.

I write and publish the article on ArticlesBase.com using all the techniques I've listed about writing articles in a previous chapter.  I cloak my affiliate link in the article that leads to the ShamWow website where users can get a good deal on the product.  The offer indicates text links are allowed, which is how I'm advertising this offer.

After submitting my article, I get a couple backlinks (explained in another chapter) so that I can try and rank high in the search engines for the keyword "ShamWow reviews".  After a week or so my article begins showing up in the search engines in the first couple of pages (Google & Yahoo) which is why you can see I've had over 350 visits in just a couple of months so far.  I am getting search engine traffic to the CPA offer however it's an article in which I have a text link there which was permitted in the offer.

I've already gotten a few leads at $12 each from just this one article that only took me about 10 minutes to setup and submit.  The great thing about this particular campaign is that it's setup as a "set and forget", which means I wrote the article and forget about it.  I don't have to pay for any of the traffic as it all comes free from the search engines and it will continue to make me money month after month on autopilot.

I typically do this over and over again with all sorts of "As Seen on TV" products, and another example is for "Cash 4 Gold".  All I did for this campaign was setup an article review just like I did for ShamWow and it ranks very high in the search engines for keywords like "Cash 4 Gold Reviews".  It's getting a lot of free traffic and making me money every month without me having to do anything at all.

The important thing that you must follow is the campaign instructions for each particular offer.  If you violate the terms of the offer, you are in jeopardy of having any leads you generated taken away from you by the CPA network, so it's not worth trying something that is restricted.  For example, if an offer like ShamWow does not allow any search traffic that means you cannot have a website setup with your ShamWow affiliate link and promote it using pay per click advertising.  Articles get their main traffic from people that browse the article site and if you're lucky enough it will show up in the search engines which will get you more traffic.  As I said before, this technique is kind of a "loophole" to the campaign restrictions, but each one will have it's own guidelines that you should follow.

Making Money with the Content Unlocker

Adding the Content Unlocker to Your Website

This is a fairly new concept in CPA marketing and there are a couple of CPA networks that have a content unlocker feature that you can use on your own websites.  The content unlocker is a way to block content from your site until a user completes a survey (which you get credit for the lead), and then the user will have access to your site content.  The content unlocker feature is great for sites that have content available like wallpapers, streaming videos, etc.  I suspect that this type of marketing will continue to be popular in the future and more CPA networks will adapt to this feature.  Basically, all of these types of offers allow incentive marketing which means that the offer allows users to complete their offer in return for something.

I'm going to give you three live examples of how I'm using the content unlocker on two of my websites that are making money each day from it.  First there are only two networks in which you can implement this feature on your own website.   CPALead.com (my top recommendation) or PerfectTracking.com all allow you to copy a line of code from their site in which you paste on your website.  Using the content unlocker features means that you need to have a website with good content on it that a user will actually spend the time to fill out a survey to get access to your content.

In my first example, I am going to show you how I created a website where people could get access to free ringtones.  You need to make sure there are enough people searching for the free content that you will be giving away and I found that there over 100,000 searches per month for free ringtones.  What I did to setup this site was hire someone to create a basic landing page for me that users would get to before they got access to the free ringtones that I will be offering to them.  It's a very basic and clean layout for the user to click on any of the red buttons that will lead them to the content unlocker.  Later on, I will show you another website I setup using WordPress that didn't cost me anything.

The page below is my simple home page or landing page that I send my traffic to as you will notice it's clean and contains "hot" buttons for the user to continue on.

Once the user gets to the next page, they will see a pop up window that locks the page so they cannot click on anything until they complete a survey.

You will notice that in the blue pop up window the user can select from a number of different surveys all of which are different CPA offers that I will get credit for a lead once they complete the offer.  When the user clicks on a survey from the list and then completes the necessary information that is required from that CPA offer, it will automatically unlock my website for them.  After the user is able to get access to my site, I direct them to the "members area" or a page where the user can get the content they requested (free ringtones).

The blue pop up window that contains the surveys the user has to complete is a simple line of code that I add to my second page of my website where I want to lock the page.  It explains to the user that they need to simply complete a survey in return for access to the site.  The key is to make sure that the information on your second page where the pop up content locker displays has good content and hot buttons so that it will entice the user to complete a survey.  In this case I have a HUGE link that says "CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE MEMBERS AREA", which tells the user they are very close to getting access.

You might be thinking that many people would just click the back button and look elsewhere on different websites for free content.  This might be the case with some, but as this technique has proved to work very well for me, I've found that if you have a solid landing page with the right content and hot buttons, the user will be happy to simply complete a survey in return for the free content.  Users don't want to search all over the Internet for lousy content, so if your site has everything they are looking for, it's not a problem at all for them to complete the survey and get access.

How to Setup Up Your Content Site

So in my website example above in the ringtone niche where did I get the free ringtones that I am advertising to the user?  I don't actually host or have any ringtones on my site, but instead I have a directory of websites that do offer free ringtone content that I put in a list for the users as you can see below:

When the user gets access to my content after they have completed the survey, they will see the list of sites that offer free ringtones.  I've already done the research myself in only listing sites that offer free ringtones and weeding out anything that the user might have to pay for.  The most time consuming part in this whole process is finding websites out there that actually offer free ringtones.  I find that it's the easiest to link to other websites that offer the free content as then you don't have to start from scratch in finding different ringtones to put on your own website.  Can the users find these sites on their own?  Sure they can find every single one of them, but it took me hours to put together a good database of these sites and my users will be happy that they can come to one location to see all of these sites.

To see how the whole process of the content unlocker works, you can go to my live site below:

http://unlimitedringtonez.com

Step by Step Process

Here's a detailed example using another free content site I have explaining the process more in depth.

I am also going to show you how I setup your free content site using WordPress as this method didn't cost me anything to setup my design since I used a free template that WordPress offered.

Again, you need to find a niche where there are lots of searches on the particular keywords per month so that you can get lots of traffic to your website.  I did some more keyword research and found that "tattoo designs" were highly searched for in many different keyword combinations such as lower back tattoos, tribal tattoos, etc.  I know that there are a few top selling Clickbank tattoo design products out there so that tells me that people are buying this guide which means that almost anyone would rather get similar content for free instead of paying $35 for an ebook.

The first thing that I do when setting up a new free content site is to search for websites that actually provide free tattoo designs with pictures, categories, etc.  The easiest way that I do this is simply perform a google search for various keywords like "Free tattoo designs"

I will then click on every website about 3-4 pages deep into the Google results and then make a list of the sites that are easy to navigate and contain a variety of free tattoo designs with images and such.   What I don't want to include is any site that expects the user to sign up and pay for something.  For example, in my search, I found this site that contains lots of categories and images of different tattoo designs so I will make sure to bookmark this site that will be added to my free content directory for my users.

Typically I want to get about 10 good solid websites that have a variety of tattoo designs, images, and quality content to provide to my users.  The research will probably take me a couple hours at most to get the right sites ready to be put into my free content directory.  Once the research is done, the hardest part is easy, and all I have to do is setup my website using WordPress.

The next step is to purchase a domain name which I use GoDaddy.com in which I always try to make it keyword rich meaning that the keywords that I am trying to target and get traffic to will be part of my domain name.  This will help for both organic search engine traffic and pay per click traffic to make my domain name bold for my keywords I'm bidding on.  So in this example I am targeting the keyword "free tattoo designs" which I registered MyFreeTattooDesigns.info for my domain.  I sometimes register .info domains a lot because they are the cheapest and I haven't found that .com vs. .info domains convert into more clicks comparing the two when using PPC to promote my site.

Once I have my domain purchased, I will setup my hosting account which is HostGator since you can host unlimited websites and domains with one hosting account for a low price.  With HostGator I can also have WordPress installed automatically for me within the control panel of my hosting account.

After WordPress is installed, then I will need to add the content to my website.  In WordPress, I will add a new page that I can put my content on so that when users complete a survey to unlock the page, they will be directed to the directory of all the free tattoo websites.

When adding my free content page, all I need to do is copy all the websites I found during my free tattoo design research and paste them into my WordPress page:

The key in this technique is to put a CPA offer at the very top to get as many visitors to click on this offer as possible to get credit for leads.  The CPA offer must be similar to what your audience is looking for and in my case I found a CPA offer from GiveTattoos.com that will give a user a $500 gift card towards a tattoo.  All I need is for the user to submit their email address and I will get paid $1.40 per lead.

To maximize my revenue even further, I add links to Tattoo affiliate programs that are on Clickbank at the bottom of my free content page.  I could also add adsense to this page as well to earn even more.

After I have my content page created, I will publish it from WordPress as this step is now done.  The next step is to create your landing page and then your teaser page that will have the content unlocker on it.  For my landing page, I want it clean and simple for the user to easily click to my teaser page that will display the content unlocker.

You can see on my landing page below, it's very basic with a couple tattoo images which you can get at istockphoto.com for cheap or you can also take images from any affiliate programs you are promoting.  For instance, I have a link to a Clickbank product that I'm promoting in my free content directory as a sponsored link so it's okay to use this image on my site.  You will see the link "BROWSE..." that the user will click on to access the content unlocker.  All of this was easily setup through the WordPress page editor as it's nothing fancy at all.  The theme is what makes the site look professional.

The final page creation step in this process is to create my teaser page that will display a few tattoo images and then a LARGE link that says ACCESS 10,000 MORE FREE TATTOO DESIGNS which is how you want to get the users attention to complete the survey from the content unlocker so they can click on the link that will send them to your free content page.  All I need to do on the teaser page is to paste a line of code that I got from InstantDollarz that displays the content unlocker pop up window automatically.  Then I put a hyperlink where it displays "Click Here To Access...." that will lead to my free content directory after the user completes the survey.

The last thing I have to setup on my website is a privacy policy, contact page, and terms page to make my site look professional to my users and to Google when I setup my adwords campaign for traffic.  Finally, it's also important to add good content to your site like articles in which sometimes I will create on my own or simply copy them from article directory sites which you can also do as long as you include where you got the article from and include the author's resource box.   I use the same generic privacy policy, contact page, and terms info on every site so it's just a matter of copying the text and pasting it into my site.

Finally, it's time to select a design for my new WordPress site.  I usually find free WordPress templates or themes that I can use in many different niches at: http://wordpressthemesbase.com/ All I need to do is download a theme I like here, upload it to my WordPress site, and then activate the them within WordPress.  This completes the setup and later on if this website proves to be a successful campaign, I will want to add new content and posts to the site to keep it interesting for my visitors and increase my search engine ranking.

As you can see there isn't much to setting up your free content site and once you do your first one, you can do this same process over and over again in different niches.  The whole process might take a couple of hours, but once you have your site setup, it's ready to make money instantly!

How to Get Traffic to Your Content Site

To get traffic to my website using the "free ringtone site" as an example, I use pay per click advertising through Adwords and Yahoo to get the majority of my visitors.  I have a PPC campaign setup that gets me hundreds of clicks per day in this free ringtone site example.  I'm spending about $.06 per click which means I need to make more than this amount for each visitor to my site in order to be profitable.  I bid on keywords like "free ringtones, free ringtone, etc." as these have a lot of search volume.

So for example, when I first started this campaign I monitored the results daily and I will compare my stats of my Adwords campaign to my CPA network to see if this will be a profitable campaign or not.  Looking at one particular day 4/22/09, you will see that I spent $133.78 on ad costs which got me 2,277 clicks to my site.  I averaged about $.06 per click which is dirt cheap to get that many visitors to my site.

Now I login to my InstantDollarz account to see how many of these visitors converted into leads.  As you can see below I had 1007 of my visitors click on a survey to complete and then 154 of those visitors converted into a lead for me.  The overall result was $198.21 of revenue.  I can tell a few things from comparing these stats.  First, I know that less than half of my visitors didn't even click on a survey so that tells me that I could make some improvements to my landing page to entice the user to get to the page where the content unlocker is shown to the visitor.  Second, I know that of the visitors that did click on a survey, about 15% of them converted into a lead for me which makes my EPC or earnings per click at $.20.  This tells me that each visitor that I send to my site that clicks on a survey is worth $.20 in revenue to me.  That means that I usually try and pay less than .10 in pay per click charges to be profitable and even less than that since not every visitor clicked on a survey.

This might have sounded very confusing to you, but the end result is that this particular site on this particular day made me a profit of $64.43.  The only thing you need to adjust is the amount you are paying for your clicks to get visitors through PPC to be profitable.  Once a user does complete a survey and I get credit for the lead, I also have more advertisements in the members area from Google Adsense and other CPA offers related to ringtones.  Basically I'm double dipping on these visitors which in turn gets me more revenue.  So in the end, on this particular day I probably made a profit of about $75 with everything on just this one website.

If I were to get free traffic using other methods, I wouldn't have to worry about how much I made per visitor, but since I'm using PPC, I need to make sure I don't burn a hole in my pocket without making any money.  You could get traffic using article marketing and other free methods if you don't have any money or a budget to start with.  Usually I will test out a new campaign such as this one for about a week and monitor my results each day.  It's simple on whether or not the campaign will be successful or not as I add up the money I spent on Adwords and then see how much I made in my InstantDollarz.com account.  Profits or Losses will vary from day to day or week to week as I've noticed, but overall if its been profitable everyday no matter how much it makes, it's a success.

I usually stick with using pay per click advertising to get traffic to my websites because I have found that I can get dirt cheap clicks to my site very fast and there is usually very little competition.  The reason being that I can get cheap clicks with little competition as that other advertisers or affiliates don't know how to monetize or make revenue giving away free content and this gives you the edge in maximizing your profits!

Making Money Using A Squeeze Page

In this next example, it might not be a new concept to you, however you will see just how easy it is to make money utilizing it correctly.  I am also going to show you how I setup my free tattoo content site using WordPress as a simple squeeze page instead of using the content unlocker.  In this technique that I am about to show you how I earn money from one field CPA offers such as email or zip code submits and maximizing that revenue using a squeeze page instead of the content unlocker.  Instead of the user completing a survey from the content unlocker (technique 1) to gain access to my content, I put an opt in form that captures the users name and email address to access my free content.

After I have my free content page created and theme setup, I will publish it from WordPress as this step is now done.  The next step is to create my home page or landing page where visitors will first get to my site.  For this step, I will add another page within WordPress.  To earn money from CPA offers using this technique, I'm going to have my landing page setup as a squeeze page so that I capture the users name and email address to earn more revenue by setting up an auto responder to send out emails of related offers that they might be interested in.  So once the user gets to my landing page, they will simply need to enter their name and email address to get access to my free content.

I use Aweber as my email auto responder service as it's a breeze to set up my opt in form, send auto responders, etc as all I had to do is paste one line of code into my WordPress page to get the form you see above.  The first email that I instantly send is to welcome the user to my free content directory of tattoo designs and also put a link at the bottom of the email of an exclusive offer they can get $500 towards their next tattoo which leads them to my affiliate link for the tattoo CPA offer.

For each user that enters they email address into my auto responder, I automatically have emails setup to go out every week or so with similar CPA offers to maximize my revenue.  For example, I found another CPA offer that will pay me $.50 per lead for each user that downloads thousands of free tattoo designs which should convert very well for my subscriber audience.  Just search on your CPA networks for keywords like tattoos and you will find some offers you can promote.  Once a subscriber is on your email list, you have endless possibilities of more CPA offers to push their way and typically anything the subscriber can get for free, the more likely they will sign up and earn you leads for your CPA offers you are promoting.

The one thing you don't want to do is send emails daily or unrelated CPA offers or they will most likely unsubscribe from your list or even claim you of spamming them.  I usually send out emails every two weeks and only with CPA offers that are related to the niche in which my user can benefit from.  You will see that in my next example I have about 10 auto responder emails setup to my list in which every single email generates me money which is pure profit since I've already captured this user and I'm not paying for the traffic anymore.

Promoting Your Squeeze Page Site

Now that I have activated my theme, I have my new site ready to promote in which I will need to setup my Google Adwords campaign.  I always select a new ad campaign and then setup my ad based on the high volume keywords at first so I can get some instant traffic and monitor my results.  So I will focus on the keywords like "free tattoo designs" and then bid around $.05-$.07 per click.  Once I find out that my website is profitable then I will setup separate campaigns to drill down into smaller keywords like "lower back tattoos", "tribal tattoos", etc. to get even more traffic.

I setup my ad that directs to my home page and only using the keywords that are relevant to my landing page in which I got a quality score of 10/10 which is the highest Google can rank your site.  This means that Google found my website to be relevant to the keywords I was bidding on.  That's why it's important to only bid on keywords that are relevant to your landing page.

You can see my simple WordPress website with my free theme that looks professional and fits my niche very well below: http://MyFreeTattooDesigns.info

Overall this website probably took me about an hour to put together after I completed my research in finding the free tattoo website to add to my free content page for my users.

Using the Content Unlocker on Forums

Another way that I have made money using the content unlocker is to give away a free ebook on popular webmaster forums.  Everyone loves free stuff, especially if its good content.  You can either write your own short report on a "how to" item like how to get free traffic to your website, how to build a squeeze page to capture email addresses, etc.  Or you can simply purchase an existing product or ebook that has already been created and written instead of writing it on your own.  In this example, that's exactly what I did is purchase an ebook from someone on "How to Generate Traffic and Dominate the Search Engines".

There are many PLR products out there, which stands for private label rights meaning that you can purchase the rights to a product that is already created and either sell or giveaway the product yourself branding it as your own.  PLR products are usually a lot cheaper than trying to have your own created by someone.  There are usually lots of PLR products that you can purchase yourself in a variety of niches on the Warrior Forum located here: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers-forum/

Once you have an ebook that you are ready to give away for free, you can post this in a popular webmaster forum that I use often called Digital Point.  There is a category in this forum called "Freebies" where people are giving away ebooks, reports, scripts, etc. for free.  This forum gets a lot of traffic and views from people looking to get free content.  For my ebook, I setup a thread indicating I am giving away my free traffic strategies ebook.  It's important that I list some details about the ebook such as how many pages it is, some of the topics, etc. so that it draws interest from many users on Digital Point.  At the end, I indicate that the ebook is free, all I ask is that you complete a simple survey to get access to the download link.

Many people that list their ebooks and other content for free in this section sometimes ask the users to sign up to their newsletter so they can build their email list in return for giving away a free product.  In my case, I'm having the user complete a short survey using the content unlocker and will earn a lead for each time someone completes the survey and will then only get access to my download link for the ebook.  In most cases, the majority of users will not have a problem filling out a short survey in return for something of value.  The traffic strategies ebook is 37 pages long and goes into detail on some good traffic techniques that the users can apply and achieve results.

As long as you offer a quality ebook, report, etc. for free, there will be plenty of users jumping all over your offer as I have already seen in my freebie thread on Digital Point.  You can see a live example of how I setup the thread here.  You will also notice that I've gotten great reviews on the ebook and users mentioning they have no problem filling out a survey to get access to the ebook.  This technique is a great way to earn money using the content unlocker as it's all free traffic that you are getting.

It's important to monitor your freebie thread at least daily to see how many new people requested the ebook so that you can private message them the link.  I also get a lot of private messages myself for people that are requesting the free ebook.  I usually just setup a simple template that I send out to each person that requests the ebook which looks something like this:

"Hi,

Thank you for your interest in my free traffic strategies ebook.  Here is the download link below:

http://secrettrafficplan.com/download-LINK-HERE.html

The ebook is going to sell for $27 but free to a limited number of people and all I ask if you complete a short survey on the page.

Your feedback would also be appreciated.

Thanks!"

The download link above is where I put in the code for the content unlocker.  So this link actually has the link for where they can download the ebook, but the user cannot get access to it until they complete a survey and I will get credit for the lead.  You can use this technique over and over again by using different types of ebooks, how to articles, scripts, etc.  Create your own product or even purchase PLR products that you can typically get cheap on the Warrior Forum and make your money back soon after you post your freebie on Digital Forum in return for completing a survey.
